Also strong chance we see scene queen. Honey revenge and magnolia park and the others from the summer school tour. Cause that's where Kevin Lyman said he got the idea to bring back warped tour.
Said the Sky also released that album that had collabs with state champs, the maine, motion city, we the kings so feels like a lock Actually just noticed Insomniac list him on their site, unsure if it's management or booking but mmm. An act called Sadbois opened for them recently, was going to joke they would play purely based off the name but turns out they do follow Warped Tour on Instagram. 68 acts to go :P
Some cities on the 2018 tour got some cool exclusive acts, but most cities were pretty middle of the road. I had a fun time (got free tickets), I ended up catching Real Friends, This Wild Life, Knuckle Puck, Four Year Strong, Senses Fail, Real Big Fish, Every Time I Die and Simple Plan. Basically on par with a Sad Summer lineup, fun to see locally. But I wouldnt get a $200 ticket and book a hotel and travel 5 hours for it.
Coheed cruise ends in Miami 3 days before the Orlando stop so some of those might be possible acts: S.S. Neverender
Orlando VIP is now at Tier 4 ($450) and I assume that's the last one? GA is at Tier 3 ($190) and Tier 4 ($210)
Crazy thing is all these tickets are being bought right now through nostalgia. So if it's not a nostalgia heavy fest. I see a lot of ticket buyers being angry and selling .
Cannot fathom giving Kevin Lyman a dime after everything that's come out about the tour. Y'all do you, though.
Yeah that’s why I was gonna pull the trigger on this. But if that’s not the case, I don’t really wanna go…
Couldn't we say the same thing for the 30 years of Warped Tour that precede this? I understand the skepticism, but it's not like it's some completely unknown entity that people have never heard of. 2019 sold 1000 2-day passes at 99.50 and went to 129.50 and up after with presale happening before the lineup dropped. That lineup in Atlantic City ended up including A Day To Remember, Bad Religion, Blink 182, Bowling For Soup, Circa Survive, Four Year Strong, Good Charlotte, Less Than jake, The Menzingers, The Offspring, Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris, Simple Plan, The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, and We The Kings amongst others. Mountain View was AAR, Bad Religion, Circa Survive, Face To Face, Four Year Strong, Good Charlotte, Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, Nofx, The Offspring, Silverstein, Simple Plan, Sleeping With Sirens, The Starting Line, The Story So Far, Sum 41, Thrice, The Used, and We The Kings amongst others. If we're in that same neighborhood at a similar price scheme, I'm in.
What nostalgia bands would be enough to entice us to travel out of state for a Warped Tour though? Off the top of my head, I can't think of any bands where I'd be like "I haven't seen them 5 times already, so I MUST be there, whatever it costs!"
It obviously matters where you’re traveling from to these things too. If you’re in driving distance you can easily book a refundable hotel/air bnb, etc. much different than needing to budget for a flight as well
That's the thing, I went to Cleveland and Detroit and between the two I saw pretty much everyone I wanted and more.
Kind of wanted it to be back on the beach in AC for the vacation vibes, but having it in DC with metro access is a nice perk.
maybe I'm just more jaded than you, but I absolutely am not confident in any way that you can use past Warped Tours to estimate what this festival will be
It’ll be Scene Queen, Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, Scowl. It’ll also be A Day To Remember, Simple Plan. At its roots Warped Tour is about music discovery. I went ‘05-‘19 and every year my group of friends would find someone we never heard of/listened too closely. Blending well-known and up and coming artists is at the core of what the tour is.
It would be pretty hard to have close to 100 bands and not like even 10-15 I would think but guess we’ll see
I can almost guarantee I'll like 10-15 of the bands they end up announcing, but I can also almost guarantee there won't be more than 2 I'd be willing to travel to see. I'd travel to see Dead Poetic, The Forecast, Acceptance, Millencolin, Grade, Jawbreaker, and Latterman on a Warped Tour together though, sure.
If we're going simply based off the videos they've posted on Instagram with the interview or bands who commented on the initial post, we've got 3Oh3, August Burns Red, Story Of The Year, Simple Plan, A Day To Remember, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Real Friends, New Year's Day, This Wild Life, Sleeping With Sirens, The Ghost Inside, Lorna Shore, State Champs, The Devil Wears Prada, Less Than Jake, and Pennywise. That's a solid start IMO if they can get those. To be clear though, my travel time for this is maybe 30 minutes by car. :)
