I spy an ~aesthetic~

 

I love that aesthetic and their merch is awesome, but I’m honestly so tired of the “Make America Great Again” themed or parody hats

 

It's especially eye-rolling when it's a foreign band, too. Enough of that shit!

 

From a distance I always think it's the actual thing and get really disgusted and then realize it's just a parody. But as a whole that merch style was a little funny for like the first month and then just instantly became stale and overdone.

 

Honestly "Make America Great Again" parody hats that are the same color as real MAGA hats are honestly the bane of my existance

Non-red "Make _______ ________ Again" hats can be pretty funny I guess

 

I'll be going to Mountain View warped tour! I also started a Warped Tour merch thread a few minutes ago

 

So we’re almost a week away from the tour starting and there are still guests that haven’t been announced yet (surprise guests not included). Do we expect them announced soon? Or while the tour is happening?

 

I think that all the June dates are basically set in stone (aside from day of guests) and probably the early July dates. NFG and Ryan Key are probably the last few dates.

 

The MAGA hat parodies were funny when we thought Trump didn't have a chance at winning. Now it's 2018 and it's just uncomfortable. I bought one of the ones The Maine had in 2016 and sold it immediately. It's a total Catch 22 where people on the left see you wearing it and think you're a Trump supporter, and people on the right get mad that you're making fun of the concept and you risk getting confronted.

Not band-related, but I used to own a “Make America Dank Again” hat and thought it was pretty funny.

I ended up selling it because
1. I don’t smoke
2. I was terribly afraid people would misread my hat and mistake me for a Trump supporter.

Anyway I say we end this discussion now because I really don’t want any sort of political debate to combust and I just want everyone, no matter what side you’re on to all get along and share the joy of Warped Tour and music and memes and all be happy.

 

I think we're all cool with each other in here and didn't really anticipate a political nightmare, but fair enough. Was mostly just commenting on the culture of the parody hats.

 

My favorite one has been “make red hats wearable again” and I think that captures the feelings everyone has on this thread

 

Oh yeah I totally get ya. It’s just in this day and age, the smallest thing can cause it, and I just didn’t want anything bad happening in this thread
