I've finally narrowed it down to 11 bands (plus 4 date-exclusives) I definitely need to see between the 2 dates I'm going to. Top-Tier (Both Dates) -As It Is -Waterparks -Issues -Chase Atlantic -Don Broco Will See at 1 Date -State Champs -With Confidence -Four Year Strong -Broadside -The Maine -Movements MN -Asking Alexandria -Sleep On It CA -All Time Low -Picturesque
Proud of you for narrowing it down! I need to do that. I feel like it's going to be so hard to choose- 2 dates is not enough. I suppose it's all about prioritizing.
This is swift industry. Bands come and go at a lightning fast rate. One minute, you're headlining in front of 3,000 people. The next minute, you're barely filling dive bars.
I wouldn’t ever consider Pvris nostalgic. They are one of my favorite bands and I feel like they are still gaining a lot of steam
I just saw PVRIS at The National in Richmond, which is a decent-sized venue. They haven't fizzled out quite yet.
Lol, I was half-joking I just meant they fit in with PTV and SWS as the bands people who went to their first Warped Tour as Middle Schoolers in 2012-2015. Those type of acts. A faux-nostalgia. Y'know, the Twitter-Teens.
You guys heard of this throwback band called Movements? They are sooo retro, their sound really reminds me of the summer of 2017
Pretty sure they’re opening for a massive band in the fall that’ll really push them away from that Rise/Fearless-core scene lol Edit: talking about pvris
Pvris always seemed like an odd band to come out of the risecore/warped scene. I'm guessing they'll get huge in the next two years
I mean, they've already toured with FOB in early 2016 but they've still largely been losing popularity since. Idk, maybe I have my head so deep into the Alt Scene I don't see them becoming super big, but it seems like they're starting to isolate themselves into the indie-pop scene, which is making them lose popularity.
Place on festival lineups, online streams and size of support on headliners And I'm not saying they're small by any means. They probably think they're too big for Warped, and wouldn't be entirely wrong, but they have a lot ground to make up with the new sound and new fans they need to appeal to.
my man you have no clue how small this scene is, how little value it has to pvris. warped isn't going away for no reason
There's nothing really to talk about unless we get more stats around the top 15 lists everyone's made or Lyman drops more bands on the lineup.
