they must either be on another fest that day, or they have a show planned in long island this summer. Maybe for great south bay music fest? NFG played last year I could see them having Less Than Jake. That's on the weekend of July 14th (they are free) so it would block them from being announced for warped. But hopefully they would show up as a special guest!
Maybe reading too much into it, but when Sharptooth announced this I feel like they accidentally confirmed senses fail on warped. They said catch us in cities that warped tour isn't hitting this summer. I mean this tour is obviously booked very strategically.
Wouldn't make sense for SF to throw Sharptooth on their tour because as you said, it would limit their cities. Guessing SF does a Midwest run. I'd also love to see Lil Lotus, this year is missing some rapper aside from Twizted
Very B-market tour, obviously Sharptooth is playing but that strongly hints at Senses Fail hopping on
Anyone else find it a little odd that there isn’t any rappers or a artist that is similar to like Bebe Rexha, Katy Perry, or Mike Posner on this year?
This year they went with a safe lineup for kids that are most likely to go to Warped. Not odd imo to stack up on a few throwbacks, metalcore and pop punk
Last year they went overboard with those types of artists (Sammy Adams, Watsky, Futuristic, etc.). They wanted a lineup that would draw this year, not an experimental one. I'm surprised that they even have Twiztid on this year (honestly I expect them to draw not that well).
Twiztid is a huge draw. I know the juggalo scene well and they will show. My buddy and his wife will be joining us this year, just for them.
I feel like emo rappers would draw decent such as nothing, nowhere. I’m just kind of surprised not one of them are on. I think even Hoodie Allen would draw well. I tried listening to Twiztid and they aren’t my thing.
Emo rap blew up after the bulk of the booking was done late last summer/early fall. If we had a Warped Tour next year, I could see a few on the bill. Supposedly Lil Peep was supposed to be on this year, but I don't know how true that is
I would of loved to have seen Lil Peep. I supposed to go to his headliner but it sold out before I could get tickets.
nothing, nowhere. would be the exception I feel. He's got scene cred where it counts (he's opened for Real Friends, Fall Out Boy, etc.) Maybe he'll get added on after his headliner. And like someone else said, Lil Peep was rumored to be on this year.
Less Than Jake not playing Long Island is probably a radius clause thing but I'm not completely sure. They're not playing the Chicago show for the same reason.
So looks like I'm going either Mountain View or Ventura. Might have to be seeing lots of stuff alone though as me and my girlfriend like different stuff which is a shame. Also nervous as it will be first live music experience in America. However, I'm looking forward to it.
Ventura is in a nicer location, and Mountain View will have an Ampitheater. If you like seating, go to Mountain View. If you want to get the "traditional" Warped Tour Experience, on a flat parking lot go to Ventura.
I might be going to the Mountain View date this summer, what stage(s) do they usually put in the amphitheatre?
Are you flying or driving? Ventura is 100% a much better venue and Warped Tour experience. You can probably get a hotel very close to the fairgrounds, and you can't beat having the show literally right next to the beach. I've been to the Mountain View venue before, and it's nothing special. I actually think that it's poorly built. The only drawback is that if you're flying then Ventura has no airport near it. Mountain View has the San Jose airport relatively close by, but from Ventura to Los Angeles is at least an hour drive. If you're driving then this is a moot point.
What bands that are doing the full tour you guys think are think will have the biggest draws? I’m thinking Mayday Parade, State Champs, Simple Plan, Motionless In White, and The Amity Affliction.
Last year I think they put the Journey's Right Foot stage and the Hard Rock Stage in the ampitheatre, and just set up the gear seperately on the left/right side of the stage. I'm not entirely sure how that worked but eh.
Going stage by stage: Journeys Left Foot- toss up between State Champs, Mayday Parade or maybe even 3OH!3 (I don't know how big their nostalgia factor is). Journeys Right Foot- Simple Plan maybe? This stage doesn't have a lot of full dates bands that would be a HUGE draw. Issues maybe if their newest album without Michael goes good. Real Friends possibly depending how their newest album does. Mutant Red Dawn- The Amity Affliction, with Wage War being a close second. Mutant White Lightning- Motionless in White is easily the biggest draw on this stage and it's not even close. Owly.fm- As It Is probably. Don Broco and Grayscale seem like close seconds.
This sounds like an absolute nightmare lol. I'm hoping that they just put the Owly.fm stage in their if they do use it. I only really have Trash Boat as a must see from that stage anyways.
