Yeah I'm really happy that the forecast for my show on Saturday went from thunderstorms to partly cloudy. Hoping it stays like that.
I think we came as romans May end up getting added to Saturday. Their old tour manager was talking about warped memories and said he was looking forward to seeing the whole band on Saturday again, and their warped experience coming full circle, and they play Bangor, ME on Sunday.
Except driving from Detroit to Maine lol. They may be only stopping that day to hang out like Hawthorne Heights but it does seem like the whole band will be there.
Just picked up a pizza on the ride back and am officially home. What an absolutely fun day. Got in at 10:30 and saw 15 bands (12 full sets, 3 partial). RIP Buffalo Warped.
anyone ever done the blood donation thing? thinking about heading out to one tomorrow mostly for the VIP upgrade
Yup, my friend donated blood and gave me his pass. It basically gets you an escort back stage to any of the side stage bands. I only used it to watch Senses Fail, but it was great, nonetheless.
I'll be leaving my house shortly to head to Scranton. I can't wait! I'll post a review for you guys later tonight or early tomorrow morning depending on how tired I am when I get home haha
For anyone who’s ever gone to Jones Beach how are the main stages usually set up? This is my first year going to Jones Beach(fifth warped show this year in total)
Yeah I really enjoyed the singles they released from it but like I said I haven’t seen them in ages. I think the last time was when they toured with City Lights (pre Beartooth) and Carousel Kings (pre Victory Records) in Ontario
Nothings in the amp (but the concourse is open for food/bathrooms/shade). All stages in the field 5 parking lot. Main stages side by side. In 2016 ( didn't go last year) all of field 5 was closed off that morning so best way in was field 4 (enter from ocean parkway, not the north entrance) and park in the rear and you can walk over the overpass. Also they didn't charge for parking since I said I was going to the show
So uh, I'm super late with my recap of the Milwaukee date but I just got back from my mini-vacation & I gotta say that the Milwaukee venue solved ALL my problems with Warped, however it made just one: the stages were too far a part. Still, I got to see every Monster, Journey's and most of the Owly bands between two dates so I'm a happy camper. I saw in Milwaukee: - Reel Big Fish - Real Friends - Knuckle Puck - Grayscale - State Champs - Movements - Issues - Capstan (a second time) - Less Than Jake - Asking Alexandria (a second time) - Broadside - Trash Boat - Four Year Strong - Simple Plan Only bands I missed that I really wanted to see were As It Is & Assuming We Survive but it's not a huge loss. I did get to see my favorite band (Capstan) twice so that makes up for it Also a head's up: the Vans tent I went to sold out of the shoes with the stripe in my size (10) & all the hats and wallets (I think there was more at other tents but I didn't check). Four Year Strong also sold out of most of the good shirts in M & L
Just got home from Scranton. I'll post a full review later, but my final Warped set was ETID and I got to meet Kevin Lyman on my way out of the venue. I'm still reeling from how perfect Map Change was as the final Warped song I'll see.
