I know it's unlikely, but it'd be cool if we get a surprise in Scranton. We have 10 and 8 bands on our Monster Stages as of now. They'll probably just move someone over to make it even, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Main stage is pretty full.
Ok, i was exausted/lazy so talking about my warped tour date on sunday now. Got dropped off at 9:30 in the morning. Got into the gates about 40 minutes later. Little early entry because i was only ADA person waiting in front. I got lucky the 3 bands i was going to see dollskin, sharptooth and kaleido didn't conflict and were far enough apart i didn't have to rush to get to them on time. I don't know if because there were less stages than last year but i didn't get caught up in very many human traffic jams/had a much easier time getting around this year. My only complaint is how hot being on that parking lot was, i will always miss the field. Ok, i'll get to the bands now. Nekrogoblikon: unfortunately saw half there set as i had like 6 different things i needed to do at monster bands merch. This is 4th time i've had to suffer through them. #sorrynotsorry i fucking hate that band. Sleep on it: i'm not really into pop punk, so they really weren't my thing. Not terrible just not my thing. Dollskin: happy i got to see them again. There awesome. Got pic with them after they played.. Mychildren, mybride: even when they were bigger 10 years ago, i wasn't into them. So another not terrible just not into them. Kublai khan: i really liked them. Super brutal and my first time getting pushed around of the day. I enjoyed them. Wouldn't mind seeing them again. Unearth: party like it's 2007! My nostalgia moment for the day. Like some songs from them, so i enjoyed getting to see them. Sharptooth: awesome! Happy igot to see them again. did meet and greet and lauren remembered me from when i saw them with anti flag. Got pic with her as well. Less than jake: saw 3 songs from them. I like some ska but was never really into them. It was cool to catch part of there set since there warped staples. Story untold: more pop punk. Saw them do 3 songs while i was eating. Not terrible just not my thing. Kaleido: yes, there a full sail band but they were one of the bands i was there to see. Awesome to see them again after 3 years of waiting for them to come back to MN. Got pic with there singer Christina. Every time i die: i bolted from kaleido to catch as much of them as i could. Caught 3 and a half songs. Glad i did. Etid is so good live. Even if you're not huge fan. I like some songs from them but i'm not super fan by any means. Go see them. They put on a good show. Twiztid: i don't like rap and despise jugglos. Nope. Only saw 3 songs anyway i left after those 3 as my ride was there. As i was leaving, the sadness of this being the last warped tour hit me. No next year. Sad. While this years lineup wasn't overwhelmingly amazing like in 2017, my last warped tour date went great. A good way to go out for me.
There's supposed to be 10 bands on each main stage, yeah? If so I feel like Jones Beach will be getting another special guest. Less Than Jake end their run of the tour the day before, I wouldn't be mad if they extend them.
I'm actually pretty bummed - this little part of me was debating taking off work today and tomorrow and last minute driving down to Noblesville, but I was afraid everyone I wanted to see would have played before 4 PM, but looking at the schedule today, Frank Turner, Less Than Jake, Every Time I Die, Joan Jett, Knocked Loose, State Champs, and The Maine all played after 4 PM, which would've been PERFECT.
This might be a tad bit off topic, but I just had a thought pop into my mind, and, well, this thread is the most appropriate place to post it. I couldn’t help but notice that quite a few bands that played Warped last year are doing tours with each other this year. To name a few, the After The Burial/The Acacia Strain coheadliner, the Beartooth/Knocked Loose/Sylar tour, GWAR/Hatebreed coheadliner, Counterparts/Being As An Ocean tour, Hands Like Houses/Jule Vera/Hawthorne Heights in the UK, and I think maybe one or two others I’m forgetting about at the moment. So, what tours do we suspect will happen next year based off of Warped’s lineup this year?
I noticed that! I could see potential for a tour involving Dayseeker and another Monster band like maybe Crown the Empire or Motionless in White. I can also picture State Champs and Story Untold. I hope Chase Atlantic gets the chance to tour with some more Warped bands again, I know they opened for Sleeping With Sirens and The White Noise last year
Real Friends is doing a headliner, KP isn't on it. Not sure if they're doing another headliner this year after the GC tour though.
Woah I've been living under a rock....Knuckle Puck is opening the Good Charlotte tour? And has the Real Friends headliner tour already been announced?
Yeah Knuckle Puck & Sleeping With Sirens are both opening that tour & no the Real Friends tour hasn't been announced yet
And Seaway opened for Sum 41, and State Champs is opening for the upcoming Blink headliner. Man it must be so cool to open for a band that got you into that kind of music.
Weird how none of our special guest predictions came true. Like Paramore in Nashville or Fall out Boy in Chicago. I guess Blink in Pomona was true but fell through. Now our last guess is ADTR in Florida. ALSO, if anyone is going to a future Warped date and would be down to buy me the hoodie that Mychildren Mybride is selling (of course with full payment/shipping costs covered thru PayPal) could you let me know? They didn’t have any in my size at my date but I regret not getting a different size
With the obvious exception of Blink, most, if not all the special guests aren’t as huge as the ones predicted, and are older that sort of fell into semi-obscurity
I’m not sure if Avenged Sevenfold had a show the day of Warped in Massachusetts but I could’ve seen them being a special guest for Mass because they were set to play a festival in Maine the day after
Holy shit I just realized that my date was now over a month ago. Next week are the final dates. The end is near, my friends.
