So people who have gone to multiple dates, what's the best strategy for trying to see every band I want to see at least once? There's 29 bands I want to see and I'd like to see each once. My plan was trying to knock out all the Monster bands on the first date and then try to hit as many of the Journey's & Owly ones the second day since those are likely to be in the shade. Or should I just hit all my favorites the first day?
Ask him why he didn’t get Limp Bizkit Also, if anyone is so inclined, ask to uh, you know. Eat, uh...
I tried doing that (most of the bands I wanted to see were on Journeys) so day 1 I decided to do Owly and monster plus the Journeys bands only playing that date however there was massive conflicts and I ended up missing 2 but I plugged the holes with Journeys bands in hopes that those 2 bands end up conflicting with someone I already saw on day 2.
So should I just try to see my top choices or do one full stage? I feel like doing one full stage the first day gives me better odds to see as many bands possible but there's a chance I'll miss a band I really want to see
I've seen ETID at Warped twice and once at another fest. TBH they'd be worth skipping for me. I don't get why there's so much hype, they've been around forever
I'm watching them right now from a seat in the amphitheater while my friend is down there moshing This stage is packed with crowd, Beartooth is going to be insane
I'd say it depends on where your absolute top few bands are. If there's a lot on both Journey's and Owly, then odds are there will be some conflicts on your second date. If your top 10 or so are almost only Monsters and Journeys, I'd do more stage squatting.
I got five bands I really want to see, three are Monster, 1 on Journey's and 1 on Owly. The rest I'm willing to miss but there's obviously ones I like more than others. I think I might do stage squatting because there's not a ton of bands I'm dying to see on Owly (just Capstan which REALLY should be on Monster but I guess they are too small)
This is a mile from my house tomorrow and I only wanna see like 5 bands. I might go if ETID plays before 3pm
Ehh check out some bands you've never heard of there's a bunch of gems in there. I'm really digging Capstan Besides 5 bands is like a whole day if you like chilling for a while, getting food, have a couple of beers. I love festivals though so I'm pretty biased
It has to be a mixture I think but at the same time you don’t wanna miss 2 must see bands from different stages so you don’t have that potential conflict at your 2nd date.
So Asking Alexandria's first date this year is tomorrow. It's their third time playing the tour (second time with Danny), last time being with Dennis in 2015 right before The Black dropped and played a side stage. Before that they played the main stage in 2011 (being one of the few bands to play main stage first) right after Reckless & Relentless was still hot. I'm hoping they do a throwback setlist but I'm guessing it'll be mostly the self-titled, maybe a song off FDTD & SUAS. If I see them tomorrow I'll update
I just left and it was still packed in there when I walked through granted it’s been raining on and off all day
I think he put out a coffee table book before the tour with one of the tour photographers, though I can't remember who?
I stayed at the Owly.fm stage for 80% of the day (the other 20% was waiting in line for M&Gs and resting in the ampitheatre) I had an amazing day, the rain honestly improved the experience a lot for some bands. I missed Real Friends cause the updated schedule made them conflict with Sleep On It.
