Silverstein's set was pretty much everything I could want from them for Warped: Hadn't saw "California" or "Afterglow" performed before, so that was exciting. Even Pierre was Simple Plan made his way over to their set after their signing. My only complaint is their extended set just flew by! I'll share some front row footage I captured later on.
Tinker field isn’t too bad, it’s got a good setup and you can chill in the shade in the stadium walkway
I only did it the first year I went (2010) so my memory is a little foggy but that sounds about right. I'd still get an actual ticket just to be on the safe side. I unfortunately can't really confirm anything because the person I went with who got the tickets and such is an ex that I'm not on speaking terms with because she was extremely emotionally abusive. But that's besides the point.
Yo! I was actually planning to do Tampa and West Palm and I would love to travel with you if you're down!
Okay, what if: Beartooth plays a different one of each of these 3 new songs each of their 3 days on Warped? That would be so cool! (Not gonna get my hopes up though. They'll probably just play Hated, Aggressive, Sick Of Me, Body Bag, In Between and The Lines)
Caleb posted a video on instagram of them practicing Infection, so decent chance it will be played tomorrow.
I missed ETID for Movements as well. All things being equal I would have saw ETID but I figured if I got a good spot for Movements I'd have a good one for everyone that followed on the main stages so I don't regret it even though I'm sure they killed it. Ended up seeing: Chelsea Grin Unearth Mayday Parade Real Friends Waterparks (some) Broadside Knuckle Puck Four Year Strong Silverstein Senses Fail State Champs Trash Boat (some) 3Oh!3 Movements Sum 41 Tonight Alive Reel Big Fish Simple Plan Underoath Great day. Great weather. No conflicts for me either (other than ETID) pretty happy about that. Reel Big Fish had the most fun set of the day. I don't listen to them at all really but they were awesome. Also I don't want to spoil Senses Fail but that medley they played! WHEW!
Underoath will be an hour and a half away from Tinley park the day before warped hits and Spencer had said to Bryan from knocked loose that he would see him at IL warped, chance they'll play IL/nearby dates?
Just realized tssf has the day off on July 24 and they’ll be in the Indy area, sounds like a good special guest.
Yesterday was awesome. The Maine was easily my favorite set of the day for totally non-biased reasons. State Champs was the first set of the day and I just barely made it in time when they played right at 11, but they sounded solid for an early set - they also played Frozen AND Criminal, which was awesome since I thought they'd have to pick between the two! I camped out in the amphitheater (one Main Stage was in there, the other on the other side of the venue which was DUMB as HELL) and watched Tonight Alive who were good, despite not drawing super well. The Maine were, of course, fantastic, and singing on stage was the coolest thing I have or will ever do with my life. The best set of the day, without question, and I highly recommend anyone and everyone to see them, as they'll be one of your favorite bands of the day too. They were selling Lovely Little Lonely and their acoustic LP for $5 (for the pair), the latter being one of my favorite albums of the 2010's, so buy that at the very least! After that I had a lot of time to kill, so I floated around and watched We the Kings, who had a giant crowd and sounded good, but it's not something I need to see again tomorrow, and The Interrupters, who were solid too. I waited to get a good spot for 3OH!3 after that, who were excellent! I had an awesome time, and they probably had the biggest non-amphitheater crowd all day that I saw with an insane amount of crowdsurfing. After that, I got in line for The Maine's signing and they were all so, so, so nice, loved my shirt, loved my guest spot, etc. John even told me I was easily one of the best of the tour so far, which was so humbling. I got a pic with them, below. After that, I waited for Knocked Loose who were really good, though I kind of had more fun watching them last year because their set was a little more organized and the small stage was a blast. I split time with them and Underoath, who honestly, were really underwhelming. Their crowd was really bare and they didn't sound that great. I think their headliners are just where people need to see them for the best experience. I cut time off their set early so I could watch Less Than Jake, who were great. I wish they played the outdoor stage so some of their show stage stuff wou ld've translated better, but they sounded really good, especially for the first day of the tour. I was going to run over and watch Mayday, but I really wanted to sit, relax and get a good spot for Simple Plan, who were fantastic as always, and had the biggest crowd of the day, for sure. Derek and Ryan from State Champs did I'm Just a Kid near the end and they were awesome too. After that I wandered again until I saw Every Time I Die who drew pretty well for a 7:45 set. They killed it, and the setlist they played was my favorite of the five. Yeah, amazing day. I wish the amphitheater held both Main Stages or they put a side stage in there, but it's whatever. Really excited for Friday, and I have a lot to catch up on for bands I missed (Real Friends, Silverstein, Mayday Parade, Movements) as well as see bands I loved a second time (The Maine, Simple Plan, Every Time I Die, 3OH!3, etc) as well as Beartooth and Senses Fail.
So awesome that you got to sing on stage with The Maine! I got to do a similar thing with All Time Low at the House Party Tour and it was absolutely amazing! Just the feeling of being on stage with one of your favorite bands singing a song that you've belted out like 1000+ times already.
Yesterday was both amazing and emotional. I caught sets of state champs, don Broco, make out, with confidence, palaye Royale, dayseeker, underoath, issues, story untold, capstan, grayscale, the Maine, simple plan, ice nine kills, as it is, motionless in white and less than Jake. The highlights were finally after years seeing less than Jake and every time I die at warped and my god they blew me away and every band on the owly stage were amazing with Broco the highlight. My gf couldn’t make it cause she was the hospital and she wanted me to go so I met all of her favorite bands and they were so supportive and kind and signed her ticket. It was such a great way to end my final warped even though I went alone I didn’t feel it. Gonna miss this. Oh also met Kevin such a nice guy really humble and kind.
