have main and monster actually be single stages instead of 2 on one. Hard rock and full sail. That would be cool. Main and monster for big acts, hatrd rock and full sail for mid to small acts.
WOW... honestly, this is pretty reasonable for the reasons you listed but god damn I am just blown away by how few of these bands I would even be interested in seeing again. The Ghost Inside sure, but they wouldn't really be a ticket seller for me, and if something conflicted on a smaller stage I'd probably go see the other thing instead. Falling In Reverse I'd love to finally see, but their last two albums have been crap in my mind and I fear that 1/3 or more of their set would be from those albums. The ONLY band on this entire list that would have me legitimately excited would be Parkway Drive. That alone would probably sell an entire ticket to be honest. Reeeeeeeeally hope they get on next year!! Other than those three, but mainly the last one as stated, I guess I'll be all about the throwback acts, Monster acts and smaller acts instead of the main stage (if the main stage is in fact comprised of bands on this list... which it likely will be).
I'm pretty much preparing for disapointment with 2018 warped lineup. Since this year had so much metal and hardcore. Next year will be pop punk fans year. The lineup will be stacked for them.
Should it be so easy to assume that still? With the upsizing and inclusion of two Monster stages I think the format of Warped has changed. It's super likely that there'll still be two Monster stages so there'll be a ton of metal and hardcore still (as that is what those stages are for)
i hope i'm wrong and we get tons of metal and hardcore next year. However, since this year reall went towards metal and hardcore even on not monster stages monster stages will abdolutely still be there but other stages won't have heavier acts next year.
Wonders if like this year, if lyman will put more acts with women on the tour next year. Holds out hope for one or two on monster stage.
I think next year they should get rid of the Hard Rock Stage and make the Skullcandy stage lineup stronger. Those stages were empty this year and could have easily been condensed to a single stage.
Honestly I think they'll go back to the whole Poseidon/Cyclops setup from 2016. The average Anti-Flag fan in their 30's-40's doesn't want to spend their money or whole day for a half hour set. It's not worth it in the long run, when you can just put a handful of With Confidence, Like Pacific, Forever Came Calling type of bands on two stages and gather more people.
Hard for me to imagine, personally. So many pop punk bands that have been on Warped in recent years have either broken up (Transit, Yellowcard), are on hiatus (Man Overboard, Motion CIty Soundtrack) or won't do the tour again (The Wonder Years). But of course, I could be wrong. Looking forward to the speculation thread for 2018.
Would love to see Marmozets again. But I think they may have said they didn't like the the run they did in 2014.
Does anybody know what bands are actually charging for meet and greets? Just kinda curious cause I kept hearing bands bring it up and "you don't have to pay to meet us."
I didn't see anyone charging when I went, but when we were in Cleveland Neck Deep was doing a signing and you had to do a $10 donation to MusiCares for a wristband for the signing. Never just explicit "pay x to meet us" things though
Lol maybe 40's was a little over the top. Late 20-early 30's are probably more likely. But the point still stands. In an all day festival type setting, multiple up and coming pop punk bands will draw more than a stage of older bands. And that's nothing against either, it's just that one's demographic is willing and excited to stand out in the heat all day and the other would just rather wait until Anti Flag and the others come on a normal tour.
Lots of bigger bands (Attila etc.) make you buy a t-shirt to get to meet them. Can't think of anyone I saw that charged explicitly, but a couple of acts last year did (we the Kings off the top of my head). Most of the time it's "be the first 100 to this tent to meet us" type of deal.
In 2014 u had to buy something to get into issues signing which I just bought the cd. Also same with watic I think that year you had to buy a shirt to get pic so I passed.
