Yeah I'm expecting it in Darien tomorrow. Still looking forward to it. At least this means no running across the grounds to get from one Journeys stage to the other like some have had to do.
Yikes, hoping and praying that the forecast is wrong. At least in 2014 when it rained they didn't shut down any stages and I still got to see some bands. Hopefully the same happens tomorrow.
There was the one year at Darien where they moved the stages from the grass to the parking lot and had everyone park on the grass. I remember that because my car got stuck in the mud haha.
Been downpouring on and off with lightning, flood warning in the area, but it's still been pretty solid even with the main stages in the amphitheater edit: couldn't type with my phone soaked
Crowds have been kinda small and dead, very little cared for the new songs they just kinda stood there
That, and they're only playing those new songs. If they played a more equal mix of old and new I bet word would spread more. That record is pretty cool, but I definitely see why they're not drawing well.
I like a lot of post hardcore, but this just plain sucks! Lacks creativity and is honestly kinda boring. I also really think they are almost kinda phony tbh. I see them not even a year ago still wearing camouflage shorts and hardcore shirts and now the one guy is wearing a smiths shirt, another a morrissey shirt and another a pinkish purple ish flannel...it just seems like an act to me cause their last two heavy albums really haven't gotten them anywhere.
For people who've seen CKY, are they worth it? I've gone back and forth between yes and no, only because their vocalist has been sort of hit or miss in videos I've seen.
Massachusetts today was a mess. Between the torrential rain, lightning, stages periodically shutting down / getting pushed back, and the main stages inside, it made a day that's supposed to be fun and special become uncomfortable and frustrating. However, saw some cool sets in the rain, which was a very different experience. I'll post a more in-depth review later on or tomorrow. Also, pretty sure all that rain fried my phone LOL
Yah cky wasn't to impressive. I was really exited to see them but they were probably one of the worst I seen that day. Also my opinion isn't the best because there was a lot of backlash from the people I went with because I thought dance Gavin dance didn't sound as good as there hype also. Could have also been an off day for both.
Both years i've gone to MN date forcast said like 50% chance of rain, even brought umbrella with and it didn't rain at all. Hopes the same for this year.
The Hartford date wasn't terrible, I caught the last 2 songs. Crowd was thin compared to some of the other bands on that stage but I'd say about the same as Being As An Ocean. There was a decent pit going on which I thought was odd. They sounded good.
Yeah, after going to the Mansfield date for like 7 years now, I can honestly say this was the biggest shit show I've experienced at warped. Main Stage was wayyyyyy ahead of schedule compared to all the other stages that all had varying lengths of delay due to the weather. Monster stage was like 40 min behind all day while Full Sail was only about 15 min off schedule (I didn't pay much attention to the other ones). I ended up missing out on pretty much all of Creeper due to the delays. At some point, merch tents couldn't sell either. Overall this year the crowds felt weirdly small even for bands I expected to pull decent sized crowds. I didn't enjoy having both main stages in the amphitheater which I only went to for DGD at the beginning of the day and later to avoid the rain during my down time between sets. I much preferred every other year where the main stages were outside with smaller stages inside.
They sounded fantastic and the new songs are enjoyable in a live setting, but they didn't pull well at all at Mansfield. It was really sad for me personally since I really enjoy their change. Being as an Ocean played right before them and had a pretty big and interactive crowd. In their defense with the change in sound, they definitely did not belong on a Monster stage and the shitty weather/delays didn't make it any better.
Man, all I can say after two dates this year is that I'm fucking BEAT, and that Beartooth is fucking amazing. I'm hoping they have a fall headline lined up.
Almost every year I have been to warped tour it ends up being one of the hottest days of the summer. Right now it says it will be 87, which is hot, but I have seen much worse. At least there is no rain in the forecast
They're running 12 bands on the left foot stage today and 8 on the right foot stage, that seems really random
Bad storms in the area today. They jammed as many bands as possible into the amphitheater stages, opened doors and started earlier so everyone could stay in the amphitheater until the storms passed over and then they could run all the outside stages. It took a while for them to be able to completely set up the other stages as well.
