DGD/Silvestein Boston Manor/Too Close To Touch Andy Black/Creeper Those would be the main conflicts that would be difficult for me
There's no way they would do Warped Tour. They draw a much older crowd, and there's a good chance they'll play in front of a small audience. If Uproar or Mayhem were still a thing, they would hit that up.
My thoughts on today: - Fun but nothing stood out - Must've been ~10k people there. It might have been double the size of this 5 or 6 years ago - Lack of pop-punk bands loses the comradery you used to feel at Warped. Everyone signing the same lyrics to songs together, now it's all HxC bands and fights breaking out like crazy (2 during Emmure, 1 during The Acacia Strain) Still had a fun day regardless.
I didn't see any fights in Camden, and I actually see a lot of camaraderie and singing during the heavier bands.
There is obviously a BIG difference between Sevendust and GWAR in terms of live shows. Everyone wanted GWAR on Warped Tour for years. Sevendust did Warped Tour in 99, but they're much older now. The typical Warped crowd aren't begging for Sevendust.
Thanks for making me feel old. Starts crying uncontrollably jk. Sevendust were at the height of success from about 98-04. Crowd they would draw would be like from late 20's to mid late 30's. Sick of it all gwar and the alarm are much older bands and they on warped. Like i said in previous comment. Sevendust don't tour like they used to. Even if mayhem and uproar were still a thing they probably wouldn't do those either.
Hartford today, sucks I won't be getting there tilll after 5pm, but that's why I'm gonna go to Mansfield for the whole day on Wednesday. Going to see GWAR, CKY, Silverstein, Anti-Flag, Blessthefall, Hatebreed, Beartooth. I'll be wearing a Gentlement in Real Life cutoff t-shirt and black shorts. Easy way to find me is look for my Used tattoo on my arm. Come say hi!
It has to be just that date. Thats the date I went to last year and randomly got punched in the face during newfoundglory and yellow card and I was no were near the pit. Thats also the date were I shattered my foot and ended up getting multiple surgeries to fix it because people crowd killing for bands like sum 41. I never seen a date like that and why I stayed far away from it this year
Is bringing the three cans of food worth it? My friend says it isn't but I see so many people a day doing it
I say it's worth it since you get to go into a different line that gets you in before those that didn't bring cans. And if you forget the cans you can just donate $5
Friends bailed on me last minute so I went solo to yesterday's wantagh date. No conflicts for me so all in all a good time. Highlights were beartooth, movements, trophy eyes. Disappointed they cut main stage to 25 min even though there was no rain. The set up also felt so random and with less room than last year?
Yeah, I did the canned good thing for the first time last year and plan on doing it again. I was inside within 5 minutes of the doors opening.
Haven't been to Wantagh in at least 3 years but yes, it was a condensed version. I remember the 2005 Warped Tour going from one Main Stage to the other was a mile apart. There was also like, 12 stages haha
So if I do the canned good thing, how early should I get there to ensure I'm actually inside as early as you were?
I believe they start letting people in like an hour or so before doors officially open with the early access? I did it this year. Got there at ~12:15, bought the wristband and went through the line in maybe 10-15 minutes. Doors at my date were 12:30.
Getting in the doors with the cans was a lot longer this year with Camden, I think they opened the doors at 12 and I got in around 12:40
Lakeshore was bumped to Mutant South today. Also side not, I'm sure it's super awkward for Frankie and the Lionetti brothers to share a stage after all the shade they've given each other over the years.
It looks like I'll be at both Detroit and Tinley Park now! For Detroit, I'm leaving work at 2 and getting to the Palace around 4 for the second half of the day (mostly catching must-sees that happen to be after that time like GWAR, Knocked Loose, Hatebreed, Silverstein, Save Ferris, etc.) Then I'm going with cgarnsey (?) to Tinley Park for the entire day!
