Okay, Theory Farewell Winters is a post-hardcore band with a 3-song ep and 1 cover. They have less than 300 instagram followers. Basically nobodies. There is another band caller Farewell Winter (not pluralized) who are an ambient/instrumental dark metal band who have multiple EPs and I have a small feeling whoever booked them probably though they were the same band or maybe contacted the wrong one. But just a theory tho.
Being as an Ocean and Hundredth's tour bus caught fire last night. Both bands and all crew members are okay with no injuries, but the bus is destroyed. Neither band is playing Nashville today.
From the looks of it, both bands are scheduled to play today. Hundredth is playing around 6:00 and BAAO is around 9:20.
Hundreth must've hitched a ride and BAAO is dealing with the bus fiasco and will get in late. Something similar happened to Handguns a few years ago on Warped, they had to stay back while the other band went ahead, Handguns was the last band playing on the stage and they advised they had car trouble and didn't even have time to set up a merch tent so they had their merch guy sitting in the amphitheater with boxes of merch, 2 shirts for $15 to help cover costs.
Hundredth and Being As An Ocean are not on the updated schedule. Never Shout Never was also left off the initial schedule but is now on the inflatable playing after I Prevail. I haven't found a decent picture to see if those set times were also changed. Ok, so apparently NSN were originally playing 5:30 on Skullcandy. But now they're listed at 9:50 on Journeys Right. Kevin should have just had the Ernie Ball winner open the Skullcandy Stage and it would have solved a bunch of problems.
looks like work is sending me so this'll be my first warped tour in five years what's the jones beach date like? is the crowd going to be obnoxiously rowdy for the heavier bands?
I've gone to jones beach for five years now and the crowds are usually pretty rough/annoying if you're in the middle or right up against the fence, but usually you can get a better view than most and not get hit by crowd surfers/pit if you stay off to the side
Quick Question Guys: This will be my first time going to Warped all-day so I'm wondering how far in advance should I show up to get in in-time? (preferably no later than 30 mins after doors) I'm going to the MN, Shakopee show so there isn't a very big concert-going crowd here (Rock shows hardly ever sell out) if that helps
that's the same date I make my way to. If you want to get in and not miss a single thing I'd say an hour. I think I usually get there 45/30min early and I'm walking in generally a song or two into the first sets (don't ask me why I don't just go an extra 15 min early lol)
Going to MN date as well. I always do 2 hours at least before doors just to be sure i don't miss anything.
If doors are at 11, I usually try to get there around 9. Definitely bring some food or $5 to the FOCN tent to get in 30-60 minutes early. I did it last year just as they were letting people in, and we got to escape the heat for a bit before doors officially opened.
This year has been pretty quiet in terms of videos and people talking about the tour. Seems to be lacking excitement/buzz
I'm going on Saturday in St. Pete for my 24th birthday. It'll be my first since 2013 so I'm super stoked to get back into it.
Just comparing it to previous years, there is no buzz, and I don't even think it's the lineup. Just no promotion, no playing up the strengths (if you're going to invite older bands onto the tour, make a big deal out of it!), and not providing anything worth talking about via pit blogs. It literally snuck up on me this year.
I'm telling you guys I'll be shocked if next year isn't the last year of this tour. Kevin is getting old.
Are the annoying monk guys still following the tour? It seems like got a lot of complaints the last two years. They literally started tapping on my window before I even got out of my car in 2015. I'd like to think the gig is almost up for them.
