Since people on here hit multiple warped dates. Worst/best venues warped has been at? Also, how is KS warped venue? Might tag along with friend for road trip.
I've been to three different venues for Warped. From 09-11, it was at Comerica. It was alright - parking was a shit show, the staff was shitty, and there was no place to escape the heat, but the venue itself is insular and easy to navigate. From 12 and onward it's been at the Palace of Auburn Hills, which is waaaay better. More vending options, a lot more room, and you can walk inside the Palace into the AC to take breaks. Also went to Chicago Warped in 2015, and I really didn't like the layout. I HATE that they put one main stage in the amphitheater and the food was outrageously expensive.
Usually both main stages are next to each other in the parking lot. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to put one main stage inside the amphitheater.
I have only gone to the Chicago (Tinley Park) or Milwaukee dates, and I always prefer Milwaukee. Great venue.
I've been to 4 warped venues. I hate Lakewood Amphitheater when it's in the back on the dirt and rocks. I always come back coughing up dirt and covered in layers of it. For best I'd definitely go with Vinoy Park in St Petes. Being right up on the water is just so cool, the layout is pretty good, and it's on all grass. The other ones I've been to are the fairgrounds in Orlando and Nashville which are pretty good.
And that's it! We got 29 responses in total. I'll post the specifics sometime on Monday. Message me if you want to collaborate on the roll out.
Lakeshore have been added to the Skullcandy Stage (7/9 and 7/12-7/15) and Assuming We Survive will be on Full Sail on 8/6
I've only attended the Scranton venue for all 12 of my years at Warped and I personally love the place. I've heard that it's a pain if you have to get shuttled from a distance, but I always get there early enough to use the venue parking and it's great. Only slight downside is having to walk uphill on your way out of the venue. Other than that, it's an ideal Warped venue. Living 25-30 minutes away is nice too.
If you hate Chicagos layout you haven't experienced Noblesville's. Chicago is a blessing compared to theirs.
I agree with you. St Pete is by far the best out of the multiple I have been to. You cant beat being right on the water in a park. Worst was the one on long island ny. Way to many people for a small parking lot. It seemed really cramped.
Damn, this is awesome, and the freshest sounding thing they've done since The Flood. I could see them getting added to do some dates.
Oh okay. I had never heard of them before they got announced for Warped. I'm surprised they are doing a full run.
My first warped was at Nassau Coliseum. It was literally just a parking lot with little to no shade which was pretty brutal. I went 3 times in different venue in Montreal and these were some of the best. Once the tour started struggling here they moved to a smaller area which wasn't nearly as good though. Not like it's ever coming back anyways. Toronto at Echo Beach was cool. The whole layout worked well and there was plenty of room to take a break and get away from crowds. Last year was probably my last favourite venue, in Holmdel. The Amphitheater with seats right up to the front of the stage was a huge bummer. The main stage placement sucked. The Monster stages had the best spots without a doubt.
