My friend knows someone that works there and I've heard it mentioned by others. Not 100% sure if that's true obviously but the only reason I ever go out there anymore is for their concerts.
Love/hate relationship with Darien Lake if true. They're celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, don't know why they'd stop doing concerts
I've gone since 2009. It was in the parking lot in 2009 and 2016. The grass field they used in 2010-2015 was amazing. The parking lot sucks so much. I tweeted and Kevin last summer and he said Canterbury sold the field.
virginia beach has always been at the same venue i believe.. my 7th year in a row. wish ida gone to 2008-2010 though
Yeah it was parking lot last year and it suuuucked. The festival itself was absolutely awesome, but the parking lot was so much more cramped than the field, plus it just sucks being on pavement rather than good old grass and dirt as it should be for an outdoor festival... hope it goes back to the grass this year
wait whaaaaaaaaaaaat? Can you link to that tweet or something? I thought I read somewhere last year it was because they were doing some sort of renovations or something last year that they had to move to the parking lot...really really really really hope it's back on the field this year... come on... the parking lot sucks because of the concrete first off, but also because of how cramped and small and hot it was (seemed WAY harder to get any water last year than the few years before it that it was bigger and in the field with water all along the fences and such)
I guess you're right... that's f*cking terrible news... Warped Tour returns to Canterbury Park on July 24 anywhere close to Shakopee Warped with a good old fashioned grass and dirt set up? I was thinking of going to Chicago a while back but the concrete and especially the stupid amphitheatre thing TOTALLY turned me off... Warped should be a sun blazing, dirt flying festival...
Fuck that sucks. The year or two warped wasn't at canterbury one year I know was the metrodome I think the other place was harrriet island. Since they ain't no taste of minnnesota no more, they should move warped there. It's easier to get to ST. Paul. Harrriet island ain't bad at all. Gone to a few things there during summer
I'm sure warped will be cool but all day anything on concrete sucks. However, nothing will ever beat the misery that was all stars tour in 2011 on the hottest day of the summer in the middle of lower town ST. Paul oh, and 2nd stage being station 4. If you went, you get this.
If Knocked Loose, Counterparts, Stray From The Path and Stick To Your Guns are doing it that'd be a solid heavy lineup for me. Doesn't seem like there will be any pop punk bands I like, or really any punk bands. I'll check out BR but I've seen them a million times
Literally take Patco from 15th/16th and Locust (which is like, two blocks away from Jefferson Station) into City Hall in Camden. The whole ride takes like 20 minutes and a two way ticket is about 5 bucks. Beats the hell out of taking a dumb ferry that's crowded with a bunch of smelly scene kids and their parents.
my only complaint from camden was the placement of the main stage, it was a diseaster during almost every band I saw in there last year
In one of the replies on Facebook, someone said their date on Ticketmaster leaked the lineup but dates aren't even up on Ticketmaster yet so I'm assuming he's full of it.
