A lot of these KTM "predictions" or "leaks" are insane. Black craft cult are really selective in the bands they endorse and half if not more they wouldn't touch, regardless if they just gave money for a random stage. The list has a BUNCH of bands that aren't doing it but they also have several that are 100% correct.
EXCLUSIVE: Sneak Peek at Vans Warped Tour Lineup! EXCLUSIVE: Sneak Peek at Vans Warped Tour Lineup! • r/Metalcore Taylor's account should have his name by it.
Taylor gives some great insight: Why cut 25 bands? My favorite part of Warped Tour is seeing the bands that are C tier bands trying to grow their band Taylor Lumley - Beartooth (Guitarist) Because they can't afford it. Has nothing to do with bands. They cut down on stages. On top of paying 8-10 bands on each stage, you also have to pay for a stage crew (sound guy, monitor guy, stage manager, truck manager and a drive for the stage and equipment truck) on top of having to spend money on generators and fuel to power said stage. TL;DR It's expensive.
Oh, okay. I wasn't sure because I can back the trying to get away from Warped. I saw Mat do a solo show back in October, after the show I talked to him and he said he didn't think they'd do Warped again. I can't remember his exact words but he said twice was enough. Lol.
Gwar seems really far fetched, just with the fact that they have lots of members in the band and the props that they use (also they stopped doing the fake blood that way it wouldn't ruin their costumes). Also being in those costumes almost every day in the summer heat, I don't see how they could survive in those costumes with how hot days at Warped Tour can be. I just think Gwar would cost a lot of money.
Realistically, I could Riff Raff or Mod Sun doing it again. Maybe Call Me Karizma because he's been gaining buzz. Also, this might might be a stretch, but MGK?
Interesting to see Lagwagon's name on there as a possibility... I recall Joey saying something about how they wouldn't ever bother doing that tour anymore because it was such a grind with minimal payoff for them in the end. But, I guess, if it's true that there's going to be more "old school" bands they might have been enticed because they'd be playing with friends again.
Wage War just announced a tour with Every Time I Die in April/May. Granted those are mostly B/C market dates, I would still count Wage War in for Warped still since I know someone confirmed them a few pages back.
Thats was me. I'll say the source again so people know, guy in local band told me they were on. Something about they were on Warped 2016 during the end of their promotion for Blueprints and they want to really promote the new album at the beginning of the cylce this time.
Here's my little prediction as of right now. I've gone through practically every page of this forum, and gathered info from other sources. I'm sure I've probably forgotten to include a "locked" band or added one that we've determined isn't playing, but this is my list as it stands. OLD SCHOOL STAGE: - Bad Religion - CKY - Hatebreed - Lagwagon - T.S.O.L - Social Distortion (Definitely not complete but I have no clue who to put here) HEAVY STAGE(S): - Beartooth - Blessthefall - Attila - Fit For A King - Emmure - Municipal Waste - I Prevail - She Must Burn - Silent Planet - Memphis May Fire - Sylar - Born Of Osiris - Escape The Fate - Silverstein - Sirens & Sailors - Modern Life Is War - Oceano OTHER STAGE(S) - Neck Deep - WSTR - Black Veil Brides - Icon For Hire - Courage My Love - Too Close To Touch - Waterparks - Dance Gavin Dance - Creeper - The Orwells - Seaway - Our Last Night - Palisades - In Her Own Words - I The Mighty Feedback encouraged and wanted.
I looked through the Epitaph and Fat Wreck Wikipedia page for possibilities for the 5 bands and this is what I got (admittedly I don't know Fat Wreck that well): Epitaph bands for Warped Confirmed: Bad Religion Too Close To Touch Possible: Anthem For The Unwanted Avion Roe Architects (partial dates) Beautiful Bodies Converge Cover Your Tracks Defeater Descendants I Killed The Prom Queen Joyce Manor The Lawrence Arms Matchbook Romance The Menzingers Millencolin Now and On Earth Off With Their Heads Parkway Drive Pennywise Pianos Become The Teeth Plague Vendor Propagandhi Refused (partial dates) Retox Saosin SayWeCanFly Sleepwave Social Distortion Survive This! Touché Amoré More than likely no: Alkaline Trio A Day To Remember Every Time I Die Falling In Reverse The Ghost Inside letlive. Motion City Soundtrack Obey The Brave Sleeping With Sirens This Wild Life Fat Wreck Cords 5 bands for Warped Confirmed: Lagwagon Possible: American Steel Bad Cop/Bad Cop Banner Pilot The Bombpops Bullet Treatment Chixdiggit! Dead to Me Dillinger Four Direct Hit Ellwood Face To Face Frenzal Rhomb Get Dead Good Riddance Leftöver Crack The Loved Ones Mad Caddies Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Mean Jeans Morning Glory Night Birds NOFX None More Black Old Man Markley Paint It Black PEARS Pour Habit Randy Real McKenzies Smoke or Fire Snuff Star Fucking Hipsters Strung Out Sundowner Swingin' Utters ToyGuitar Uke-Hunt Useless ID Western Addiction More than likely not: Less Than Jake Teenage Bottlerocket
I'd count out: Descedents, The Lawrence Arms, Joyce Manor, The Menzingers, Pianos, Touche Amore & Dead To Me for sure. Also Less Than Jake signed to Pure Noise
Maybe NOFX as an old school stage band doing a run after the stuff they already have planned late june
Also, pretty sure the Larry Arms are banned from Warped Tour for an incident back in the early 2000s. Hah. Forgot that Face To Face were a Fat Wreck band. They're doing that cruise, so... Strong possibility there. If that count of five Fat bands is accurate, then it's really "four other Fat bands" because Lagwagon is a Fat band. Pretty convinced that, if that holds true, it's going to be either NOFX or Me First + three of the "baby Fat" bands.
I had Direct Hit in my prediction even before the punk thing came up. They seem like a prime candidate to be the Masked Intruder type band on a smaller stage this year. And I'm really leaning towards Face To Face being there.
I talked a guy who does merch for Direct Hit and he said they all have families and can't tour for more than a few weeks. He also told me that FYS was going to add a second Chicago show at a smaller venue and that happened to be right.
