But almost all heavy bands who play main stage at Warped Tour try breaking into the hard rock scene and play Rock On The Range, Welcome to Rockville, etc.
How about We Came As Romans? I know someone said a couple months back that they weren't planning on playing Warped, but they haven't been announced for any of those Hard Rock fests as far as I know. Are they touring or recording this summer? They don't have any announced shows according to Facebook.
WCAR will probably be back on, with a new album due (probably summer) I can't see them not doing the tour. they have stated in recent interviews that the new album will take them back to their roots. they played 2011, 2013, 2015.
You're right, but they seem like one of the only heavy mainstage bands that's been around for a bit that hasn't lost their... "heaviness".
Officially bs. Soad is overseas june 1st to july 5th. Warped was never there crowd. Ozzfest, yes, warped no.
They would definitely fall into the "announced day of, because they're THAT big" crowd. I guarantee you that the people who are at the Monster stages most of the day would lose their minds.
I highly doubt it. They have over a 3 mil guarantee to play and Sharon Osborn said they single handedly bankrupted ozzfest
I assumed it was BS. I mean they're headlining Download which usually has Warped main stage caliber bands in the tiny print.
Again "THAT big crowd". I doubt they would, but hey Warped got Linkin Park and they are probably the same size as SOAD if not bigger.
Movements for a small stage slot? I noticed Warped a week or so ago used one of their songs in a promo video. They're signed to Fearless and it seems they only have an EP out. They also have no tour dates as far as I know scheduled after April. Obviously, I'm aware that promo music doesn't necessarily mean anything, but to use an up and coming band's song in a video that thousands of people would see makes me want to put down subtle hint. Since it'll be easy promotion for people to want to go check out the band's set in a few months and acquire a fanbase.
I'm expecting all of the bands on that Senses Fail to do the tour. Movements on Full Sail, Like Pacific on Cyclops sized stage and Senses Fail/Counterparts on Monster would all make a lot of sense.
Think Carousel Kings might be on? They're putting out a new album, just signed with Victory, and their headliner ends mid March.
LP did it for a deal with management companies aswell as wanting to reach back into that world. SOAD haven't done under 30k+ tests is like 8 years
Thoughts on Famous Last Words playing? They just released a new album in September and I don't think they have summer plans.
What would everyone's Top 5 one-off bands to play Warped be? I was trying to think of realistic ones that would in a heartbeat make me buy a ticket if the lineup isn't that great. This is what I came up with. (through some reunions in there too) My Chemical Romance Anberlin Fall Out Boy Slipknot 30STM
Agreed. The heaviest band of recent years I can recall is TBDM in 2013. Since then it's been bands like Chelsea Grin or Whitechapel. I wouldn't be opposed to a slam band playing but it'd be small stage and probably a lower turnout as I know a lot of deathcore fans aren't super into the brutal death metal stuff.
No way slipknot would do it with almost a 4 mill gautentee. Most of the warped dates barely filled out parking lots in front of venues slipknot sell out. I think poll star said most warped dates averaged 8-9k attendance
Out of that list, I can see FOB and 30STM. As far as other big bands, I can see Rise Against, Blink, Twenty One Pilots all playing one offs. I can also see Limp Bizkit and The Offspring do it but those would be long shots.
