Thanks guys. These look pretty good. I'm really hoping for a great undercard this year. What is the likelihood of getting a band like Turnstile or Angel Dust this year? Also, @DarkestDayOfMan TGI confirmed they aren't playing this year, just FYI.
I've heard that Vigil said this wasn't the year, but I'm putting out hope that they're just trying to throw people off in hope to create hype. I mean the likelihood hood is small, but Knuckle Puck has also denied being on every year they were on when asked by people.
One of their guitarists most likely would need more surgery sometime after March, so that's am assumption of off.
In TGI's case, I think Kevin basically just left them open to play whenever they're ready to play. If it's 2017, great, but there's no guarantee. Hell, it could be a couple years before they're ready to play a show, let along a tour as grueling as Warped Tour.
As much as I like this, YMAS seems like they will never do the tour again. Also someone tweeted at the lead singer months ago (cannot find it), but basically seemed like they are done attempting a USA following. “We can’t offer any more to pop-punk, we’ve done that now… ” You Me At Six talk ringing the changes on new album Night People | hmv.com
Finally, how is 2017 looking? Are you pretty booked up? “It’s going that way. We start touring in March around Europe, UK in April, U.S. in May and then it’s festival season, we’re going heavy with the touring. We’ve been away for a year and we’re excited to do it. We’re going to new places and we want there to be lots of first times on this run, new people, new spots.”
Haha I didn't read the whole thing. But, based on the quotes, it seems like if they feel like they've done everything for pop punk and their new CD is so different. It's more Kings of Leon then anything on Warped tour I highly doubt they would do it.
I remember when Buddy from Senses Fail was making fun of them at Warped Tour for wearing neon clothes and covering Lady Gaga.
As much as I love Buddy and Senses Fail, he really annoys me when he trashes other bands on Warped for image or whatever. The past can come back to haunt you, Buddy.
If Knucklepuck isn't busy this summer I can see Homesafe on Full Sail this summer. Their new EP is really solid.
I'm going to add a few things for artists. I could be 100% wrong so dont quote me to anything. A lot of you guys are posting 90% recent years line ups with a few other artists sprinkled in. I dont think managers and kevin see a point to it. As for bands.. -Riff Raff will never be back after the last year he did like scalping his guest list, guns and constantly missing or running late to sets. -The Used physically can't. They HAVE to give Burt a day between 2 back to back shows to rest his voice after that surgery he had and ignored the doctors orders after. -In This Moment in their scene are just too big. They bring god damn back up dancers. I can't imagine them dumbing their guarantee down just to play to 13-18 year olds when thats not their demographic. - You me at six have said a bunch they hate the idea of warped tour and Kevin said he would never have them back after the first year they did. -I believe someone posted in here The Summer Set confirmed they weren't. -The Ghost Inside is going to be nowhere near ready. Everyone is assuming they'll play because Kevin simply said if theyre ready the offer is there. -The Amity Affliction start a Europe festival run in July. -Conquer Divide will never get pushed enough in their entire career to make it to even partial dates. Artery doesn't like to put many bands on it seems. -I dont think partial dates are going to be be enough incentive for them to fly over from australia. I know I missed a bunch but those were the most obvious. I do know that a handful of some bands listed are on the tour
Homesafe mentioned they'd be touring in May, which makes me think they won't do Warped. It'd be cool, though, they'd definitely fit in.
out of marsvoltamcr's and darkestdayofman's projected lineups I REALLY hope these guys I've singled out in the stage list below make it on... Honestly if this was literally the entire lineup it would probably be my favourite Warped tour ever. Or at the very least my dream Warped tour that I can think of right now (having checked off a lot of bands in the past few years already... though I would love to see Crossfaith return as well as '68 and Attila, three of the best live performers I've ever seen!). And Parkway Drive is a must -- fingers crossed for them as they'd probably be my #1! Journey's Left: Anti-Flag T.S.O.L. In This Moment Jimmy Eat World Journey's Right: Papa Roach Social Distortion Andrew W.K. Monster North: Parkway Drive Hatebreed I Prevail Attila Emmure Escape The Fate Monster South: Thy Art Is Murder Being As An Ocean Stick To Your Guns Stray From The Path Emmure Cyclops/Poseidon: Trophy Eyes Get Scared From First To Last 68' My own personal hopes aside from those listed by these two would be: NOFX, Hollywood Undead, Suicide Silence, Rancid, Lagwagon, MxPx, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, While She Sleeps, Avatar (what do you guys think are the chances of any of these I've listed here?)
with the plans they have for fall, it wouldn't make sense for in this moment to do warped. Even partial dates.
I can't see AoF on Warped at this point. They haven't played a show in North American (aside from a surprise set) in what will be 2 years by the time Warped kicks off. City and Colour is also headlining a festival on July 2nd. Billy Talent is doing some European festivals starting at the end of July so I don't see them playing either. I do think it could be a good opportunity for them though since they still haven't broken through in the US. I don't have much insight on the others but I could see WSS doing it again. If some of the "older" bands do make a comeback this year I wouldn't count out NOFX, Rancid, Lagwagon or MxPx.
I would love to see as many heavy bands as some people have listed I just can't see it. Warped has the potential to be friendly to super heavy deathcore/death metal/slam bands but they wouldn't be big enough even to pull on monster. You'd basically have to put them on the smallest stage. Even a band like Ingested who is huge in the slam scene wouldn't pull well.
Ingested was the 2nd band up on Summer Slaughter 2016, I by far and away would expect them to be on the Full Sail stage. The slam community isn't that big of a voice in the long run of things.
What about P.O.S? He's currently doing a headliner. It seemed like the Warped crowd was very receptive to him the last time he did the tour.
I don't see MxPx doing it. They're all pretty busy outside of the band, and don't really do long tours anymore. I could see them doing partial west coast dates though, but that's it.
Yeah they're on it. I was chatting with Beau after their last show in Toronto and he slipped it into the conversation. As for breaking away from the warped scene, I don't think they need to since it gets them a lot of merch sales and publicity seeing as how they are a main stage band.
