The sad thing is that it went way further than this. A friend of mine got directly involved and they made it seem like it was their management and not them making such a high demand.
For a band in Smash Mouth's position, asking 50k isn't that outrageous. For public shows they'd probably demand less but that comes with the oppurtunity to sell merch. You're paying a band to fly out to your town, bring all their equipment, bring their crew, get them a hotel. And for what? Just to play to a 100 people who you're not gonna be able to sell merch to? Dividing all that money up doesn't make 50k that unreasonable when you're at point in your career. But why would you actually pay 50k to have Smash Mouth play a private show, let alone fractions of that? Smash Mouth isn't assholes for having a guarentee that large, this dude's just an idiot.
I wonder if Skindred would ever return. They played the tour in 2005. They barely ever tour the US, but a while back they said that's mostly because they don't get offered to tour over here. Warped would seem like a prime opportunity if Kevin extended the offer.
Saw them at Rock Allegiance this year and they were amazing. Would be a big plus to the lineup. Don't know how well they would go over tho.

i'm really wondering if TWA will be on again after playing this past year. their recent FB post doing a TBT of this past summer and saying something like we can't wait to show you what we've gotten planned for 2017 or something. and the saying they'll be in the US in june/july. makes me wonder. i know it's VERY unlikely as they usually play once they release a new album, but its stated that they'll be releasing new music this year too!
They've done a string of headliners the since then. 2014 December headliner with For All I Am, Kingdom Of Giants, and Whether, I Spring 2015 coheadliner with Tear Our The Heart supported by For All I Am Summer 2015 coheadliner with Farewell My Love supported by Sycamour and It Lives, It Breathes Summer 2016 Headliner with Outline In Color, It Lives It Breathes, and Open Your Eyes October 2016 tour supporting Alesana with Oh, Sleeper, Artwork, and Two O'Clock Courage December 2016 headliner with The Funeral Portrait and Versus Me. They stay really busy for the most part. The big break in form 2015 to 2016 was a label change and recording their newest album. They need to get on some support tours.
