Can we start a pseudo-confirmed list? Like bands that have heavily hinted that they are playing this summer? Invent Animate New Years Day
Okay this might really be a stretch. But does anyone think DGD could be on main after their album sold well first week? I mean their sales did better than OM&M, MMF, and CTE.
The whole DGD thing is such a cool story to me. A band that's put out a ton of albums, but always stayed true to themselves. And then you have bands like the above three who consistently diluted their sound with each album, and now are facing the repercussions of that choice.
DGD would make sense as a main stage band. Honestly they would be a bit out of place on Monster in my opinion. Their heavier sections aren't heavy in the same way as most of the screamed verse/sung chorus bands on Monster, if that makes sense. They might be more well received by casual fans at the main stage than if they were stuck between Attila and Upon A Burning Body or bands of that ilk. This is assuming the big name heavy bands aren't on Main again next summer.
I still don't know if DGD is main stage level. I still see them on Monster, assuming the stage setup is the same as last year. I'm really happy for them that things have been going so well, been a fan for a while now.
I said the DGD could be on main stage thing only because I remember hearing a podcast with Derek from State Champs saying they were originally supposed to be on the Poseidon/Cyclops stage this year. Then, Kevin saw their album numbers and offered them a spot on main. So it makes me think this could be DGD as well?
"Doubt we'd do Warped again. It's just not really what we want to do anymore. We like being able to decide who we tour with and not pooping in plastic death toilets." I get where he is coming from but I was hoping they would be on this year
Echosmith stated like a year back that they really wanted to do warped again too, so I'd say it's definitely a possibility.
I've really lost interest in them. It wouldn't bother me too much. I don't know how much they'd gain from doing Warped again anyways.
Well that's the thing, they really wouldn't gain much at all. They need to go out on a tour with some bands that bridge genres instead of the constant stream of Warped bands.
I agree but that hasn't stopped plenty of other bands from doing it over and over. I could see doing the main stage twice before trying to branch out.
Totally understand why the band wouldn't want to do it anymore, but still a little sad. I saw The Wonder Years four times at Warped, across three different years. Every year I've seen them they were either my favorite or second favorite set of the day.
The Warped social media accounts shared Anti-Flag's new track featuring P.O.S. I'd love if either of them played again.
