Story of the Year just announced they'll have a record out in 2017! I'd definitely put them in the running now.
I changed my prediction up given recent info and album/tour announcements. Also I just noticed if most of this proves true, there's a ton in common with the 2013 lineup. TWY, The Used, Never Shout Never, MMF, STYG, Upon A Burning Body, Big D, SOTY, HH, Hands Like Houses, blessthefall, Silverstein, Letlive, Amity Affliction, Anarbor, Attila, and probably more I'm forgetting. As someone who went to the 2013 tour, I have to say that this lineup would be pretty solid to me. It will be hard to top last year though. Seeing Sum 41 come back strong and Yellowcard bid farewell to Warped will go down as a special moment in music for me personally.
Sleep On It, Marina City, and 7 Minutes in Heaven are all three pop punk/pop rock bands from Chicago that seem to be gaining traction. I could definitely see Sleep On It playing since they just signed to Equal Vision.
Yes, but only once in 1998. They only had one album out at that point. EDIT: I'd be totally down to see them play. I've been wanting to see them play Destroy Everything live for years now.
Also, Download Festival started to announce some bands and so I think we can safely count out a few bands, those being SWS, TSSF, MIW, and OM&M.
Playing Download means nothing. From Ashes to New and Atreyu played both this year. Does it deter bands? Maybe but it's not a definite no.
True. But a lot of the time bands will stay over in Europe for the festival circuit, obviously there are some exceptions. Also though, 3/4 bands I said just played this year so the odds of that happening again are slim.
Yes, I would say so, except for maybe a one-off or a week. I would say they are equal to Linkin Park in size.
The "fame" of Jared Leto (for lack of a better term) makes it way more complicated and, most likely, would be a pretty decent factor in that not happening.
Warped is going to get Punk again because Trump won. I bet Circle Jerks, 88 Fingers Louie, Crass, and Bad Religion will play next year.
Ben from Invent, Animate was strongly suggesting that they were on Warped Tour when I asked him about touring plans. Didn't directly say it was Warped but said they were "on one of the best tours in the world this summer." And when I asked him if it was Warped he kind of just smiled.
