All this talk about Warped ending soon is making me sad. It will forever be my favorite day of the year. Also not sure why people think the lineup is so bad, there's a lot of quality bands on it.
I don't think it's the worst but it a little weak compared to other lineups. This is probably the most "Warped-Looking" lineup we've had in recent years! It's not too heavy on a certain genre and there's a great mix of bands overall!
I certainly agree it's a good mix and goes more back to the roots but I don't see how it's going to draw good numbers.
I don't think warped will end for at least five years. Just because this year sucks to some people, I think it will draw well. And next year will be big I believe.
I mean trying to draw good numbers is impossible, with the ability to get pretty much every song/artist/genre at your fingertips. Not too many people use that to their advantage. I graduated high school last june and if I ask my classmates an underground music act. A lot would say Chance the Rapper, most stayed in their billboard top 50/100 bubbles when it came to music. If I was to drag anyone my age to warped, they'd probably wind up liking it. Many of these cases its they don't like punk or metal, but they've heard one or two songs or worst, had never even heard a punk or metal song so they just up turn their nose towards it.
It'll be solid draws but not as much as recent years. I think a lot of fans have 2-3 artists that'll justify seeing this lineup. Andy Black can draw by himself, Attila will have a solid crowd, I Prevail/Beartooth will probably get the mainstream rock fans to come out, American Authors/OLN/Sammy Adams will probably bring a decent pop crowd. That's not even including the metal/hardcore fans that'll stay at the Monster stages all day and the older punk crowd at the Hard Rock stage.
im pretty excited for wendsday this lineup is good but can get better I predict were missing 2 main stage bands, 4 hardrock, skullcandy and monster stage bands and about 7 full sail bands. whatya guys think more or less?
I've gone every year since 2004, and this may be the first year I opt out (especially with it being held in Salem instead of Portland).
does anybody have any idea on the prices for the tickets? should be going to two dates this time around and i'm hoping that they're not too expensive.
Most of the dates are up on Ticketmaster already. You should be able to check yours and click on Price Range there.
i tried checking, but Livenation changed up their site and i can't seem to find the "price range" option anymore.
This isn't the worst Warped lineup ever. 2015 happened. Actually I'll rank every lineup since I started going in 2005. I won't include this year until we see what partial run bands we're still missing. 2005 2009 2016 2013 2007 2006 2010 2014 2012 2008 2011 2015
Last year's lineup was fantastic so this year's was going to be disappointing. I expect next year to be pretty solid.
Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna love the show this year, it's just gonna feel awkward. I feel there are gonna be a lot less "Scene Kids" and more Metalheads, and while that isn't a bad thing I feel like the lack of straight up rock and pop bands will repel the casual warped atendee which kind of sucks
That could go either way I think. The casual Warped fan probably only needs 3-4 bands to convince them to go. And with Beartooth, Neck Deep, Andy Black, Attila, Our Last Night, I Prevail, and Memphis May Fire all playing, I think plenty of young kids will still be buying tickets.
Why do people hate 2015? It was pretty good. Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Beartooth, Pierce the Veil, Escape the Fate, New Years Day, etc. It was a pretty good lineup imo.
2015 had a good undercard (PUP, Transit, Moose Blood, The Dirty Nil, Knuckle Puck) but I think the main stage was really weak aside from a couple bands. Rotting Out and Ho99o9 both dropped, it had zero bands that existed pre-2000 aside from Simple Plan and Motion City Soundtrack playing a few dates each, zero ska or reggae bands. It just felt underwhelming for a Warped Tour.
At least Hawthorne Heights USED to be popular haha. Man Overboard and Family Force 5 playing main in 2015 still might be an even bigger head scratcher than HH this year. Jule Vera makes no sense, though. If they wanted to go the route of having a few female artists on main stage, Courage My Love and Creeper would likely draw a bit more.
