Their new song is 'Born to Run' - a cover of Springsteen. OK. kidding. It's a cover of Katy Perry. OK. its their own song, but boy... do they fit on Warped??
Pirate metal on Warped Tour? Somehow this is the perfect combination of things that I've been missing my entire life.
for me warped budget runs $200 that's just for ticket and I can't drive so paying someone to drive me. Merch, cds, food etc. On a year where there's 2 or 3 bandsni like. It maybe $200 I think I'm gonna need at least $400 for the ammount of merch I know I'm gonna want.
I don't even want to think about how much Warped cost me. Last year I turned it into a "trip" to NYC and easily spent over $600, probably closer to $1000 for the weekend. But it was great. On another note, when I have some time today I'll throw together a Spotify playlist.
Did BVB have ANY songs that got airplay, that I might know? Like MCR had that one or 2 songs.... but this one? I know them through here, but do I know <anything> from them?
So I wasn't at my computer at all this weekend but I saw the leak. I'll post my thoughts. Futuristic is one of the best and fastest rappers out there right now, he's gonna be up there for me. I haven't ever heard or listened to Sammy Adams, I'll check him out. I still hope Waka shows up for a few dates. The Monster stages are STACKED. So many bands I want to see. There's enough for me to warrant two dates this year, and one of those days just at the Monster stages as there's only a few bands on it I dislike. Just to have Carnifex, The Acacia Strain, Emmure, After The Burial, and Hatebreed all in the same area is a fever dream of mine. The rest of the lineup had some pleasant surprises. Like holy crap I'm stoked for Alestorm. I've known of them for a while but a chance to actually see them will be awesome. I'm not in any way sad about this year. I know a friend of mine was but I'm stoked. Can't wait to see the full lineup as the two dates I want to go to will likely have different bands as its right around the middle where people doing half runs get off an new bands get on.
Definitely weak and I understand why a lot of people wouldn't be interested in going and the tour will probably tank pretty hard but there's enough to get me there. I'd definitely watch all of the following: Anti-Flag The Suicide Machines Microwave Creeper Knocked Loose Stick To Your Guns Counterparts Trophy Eyes Silverstein Movements And probably: CKY Gwar Sick of It All The Ataris
This one took a while, you guys better enjoy it! Started from the smaller stages up to the main stages to try and get some of the smaller bands extra play time.
Never been to warped tour but if Hatebreed and SOIA is really doing this I guess I'm breaking out the jean short mosh
Alestorm and Gwar The bands that makes the least since for this tour but will still probably have the most entertaining sets of the day
Minus the ticket my Warped budget was around $100 or so for food and merch. Although now it's a little more expensive for me because they've stopped coming to Ventura, CA. Ventura is an hour and a half drive from my town, but now I have to drive 3-3 1/2 hours to Pomona or Mountain View so it's a little more expensive for me now because of gas. However, the drive to Pomona last year was well worth it and 2016 was perhaps the best Warped I've gone to. Considering doing the Mountain View date this year because Green Day is playing in Oakland the next day, so I could get a hotel up in the NorCal area and spend a couple days there.
Pretty stoked about this lineup. I was planning on only doing one date this year, but I might have to go twice again. And I'm happy to be able to stay away from the main stages. Tier 1 Being As An Ocean War on Women The Adolescents Anti-Flag Suicide Machines Sick of It All Trophy Eyes Tier 2 Stick to Your Guns Gwar Alestorm Sonic Boom Six Stacked Like Pancakes Bad Cop / Bad Cop The Ataris Creeper Tier 3 Hawthorne Heights Hundredth Silverstein Microwave Courage My Love Knocked Loose
Damn, I'm reading all of these comments about how people are spending a ton of money at Warped and I just spend $20 max on everything. Parking is free, ticket is free, I'm allowed to bring a sealed water bottle in so water is free. Only thing that I haven't figured out is food.
I used to survive off those free beef jerky and candy that they used to give out at some stands but last year I don't believe they had them anywhere
The only band that would actually get me to go to Warped Tour this year (if that leak is true or whatever) is The Ataris. And even then, I've seen like 6 times already.
I'm blown away by all the people who are being kind of meh on Alestorm and Gwar... seen both of these guys live and they put on a phenomenally entertaining and unique live show that's unlike really anything else you've seen before. They will be likely be the highlight of the tour performance wise and will probably be two of the most memorable sets you guys will ever see -- even if you're not big on their music. Do check them out. I would've been super excited for them but I've already seen both, though I still definitely plan on checking them out if I have no conflicts for sure.
Tier List 1-Silverstein, Hands Like Houses, Neck Deep, Andy Black, Boston Manor, Bless The Fall, Boston Manor, Dance Gavin Dance 2-American Authors, Creeper, Trophy Eyes, Too Close To Touch, Beartooth, Courage My Love 3-Jule Vera, Memphis May Fire, Hawthorne Heights, Microwave, Our Last Night, The Gospel Youth, Gwar, Stacked Like Pancakes
Did anyone go to Lolloapalooza the first year, I think, with the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow. That kinda reminds me of a gwar set.
I've seriously seen alestorm like 4 times without even trying. I'm burned out on them. No issues with folk metal genre at all. I'm a big fan of eluveitie and arkona.
Not just saying this because I think this is one of the worst lineups in recent memory, but, I feel like Warped is hitting the end of the road. I think this Lineup clearly is a "Lyman lineup" with his favorite acts for whatever reason (Attila/BlesstheFall) and the older bands that the tour was about (Ataris, etc.) I think he's fine with it since he knew sales had been declining even with a great lineup last year. My hope is maybe he is saving a little extra money for a last warped in a year or two with some big names. But I don't see this lineup appealing enough to the younger kids or the older crowd just because of the Hard Rock Stage.
