I'm a graphic design major so i know what you mean, i've done the exact same before. Hopefully the real document didn't have any typos
A lot of you guys are underestimating how hatebreed fans will pay $50 just to see a 30-Minute set. I'm hoping being on Warped tour will turn a lot of them off, because pushpitting with a bunch of racist white trash skinheads sucks, and that is usually Hatebreeds draw. However, since this line-up is full of Mosh bands, hopefully that won't be the case, and we can all have fun when they play Smash Your Enemies.
yeah... massive bummer... but it is what it is I guess. Nowhere close to Minneapolis at all that seems to have grass and dirt like it should be
It's kind of early, but I think I'm going to pass this year if that's the lineup for Detroit. Even though there are bands that I would want to see, I kind of want to save money for Riot Fest or MO Pop. Warped's usually like a $200 investment every year for me if you consider the ticket, gas, food, merch, etc. I don't know - it doesn't seem super worth it this year.
So apparently the lineup leaked. It's been killing me to not read this thread but I can't do that to myself. Last year when I saw the leaked poster it made the announcement video a lot less fun. I've already seen a couple bands that were leaked just from not looking away fast enough, but this year I don't want to see the leak until the lineup. I want to see the announcement video and be surprised when the band's logos appear over the music video in the epic way that they did last year. So I guess that means I'll see you guys Wednesday night!
I'm in class wednesday night. good thing I saw the leak so I don't need to watch the livestream a couple hours later to catch up.
Wait, the entire lineup? Or are you referring to the leak of the Cincinnati date posted in this thread?
Damn. That's insane. I haven't spent more than $50 at warped since 2006. MoPop doesn't excite me & I find most of michigans "festivals" to be boring/bad line-ups/Venues. Riot Fest is something I usually will drop some dough on, but I'm not sure this year. I always luck out and get a ticket last minute from someone for ~ $120 Last year was wild, I ended up getting a ticket for sneaking a pint into the park. That sucked.
I probably mention this every year, but I really hope they go back to weekly announcements. If anything my hype dies down the more I wait honestly. Even something in the middle like weekly announcements for half the lineup and then announce the rest in bulk on a set date would be good.
It's not as crazy of a figure when you think about it. Ticket's $50ish, parking is $20, gas is probably $25 to fill a tank, food and water are wildly expensive (though the refilling stations are awesome), and I like to grab a couple of shirts/CDs if I can. It varies every year, but it's always a wild number, haha.
I take my Warped situation for granted I guess haha. My venue doesn't charge for parking and it's only about 25 miles each way for me. I usually get breakfast on my way to the show and eat something light at some point during the day. And of course the water refill stations are amazing.
My venue does charge parking ($30) but I can just go to train station and get a round trip ticket for $5 and the train station only charges parking between 2am till 8am, rest of the time it's free. I don't eat a lot anyway, so food can easily be stopping to eat way there and way back.
Oh man I wish. I drive 5 hours to the Seattle Venue from Canada. So I get wrecked on gas and the exchange. I still have no idea if I'll go this year because I really don't know what the line-up will be for Seattle though. I'll find out Wednesday!
It's outrageous what The Palace charges for parking. I miss the Detroit date being at Comerica cause I could park at one of the casinos for free!
Mansfield, MA is good - close to home, in/out sometimes is ok. Stuff inside is expensive, sure. BYO as much as you can get away with.
It always interesting to hear other people's experienced. Parking is free at the Chicago venues and a lot of people stop by the Burger King right off the highway for food before they head to the venue. I spent about $100 on merch and maybe $10-20 on food every year.
I just know them for that Best Day of my LIIIIIIIIIIIIFE song that gets played on every radio station.
Finally got caught up, I'm rarely on my computer on the weekends. I saw someone post about the leak on Facebook so I can straight here to find I had fallen 20 pages behind haha. It was funny seeing the thread explode with people who have never posted before. Anyways, based on the leak, these are the bands I'm interested in seeing. Hawthorne Heights I Prevail Beartooth Dance Gavin Dance Hands Like Houses Memphis May Fire Neck Deep Our Last Night The Acacia Strain Being As An Ocean Counterparts Fit For A King Silent Planet Stick To Your Guns Bless The Fall Gwar Hundredth Silverstein Microwave Anti Flag The Ataris Boston Manor Knocked Loose Trophy Eyes It seems the overall response isn't great but I'm loving this lineup. Probably has just as many if not more "must-sees" for me than last year. It's got a cool mix of bands I've already seen a handful of times and love (Beartooth, STYG, Silverstein), and bands I've been really into lately and can't wait to see for the first or second time (Dance Gavin Dance, Neck Deep, Microwave, Boston Manor, Knocked Loose, Trophy Eyes). Still excited for Wednesday, especially since I still don't know which date I'll end up going to.
