And the Canadians scream because Warped somehow missed Canada during their Road to Warped but not Mexico.
I've seen a lot of hate for the lineup here and other places in regards to the lack of pop punk, but was there really any bands that could take up a good chunk of the main stage that didn't do it last year? Like I get it, 2016 was an overall fantastic year but you had to expect someone to get the shit end of the stick in 2017 and I think it was quite obvious it would be pop punk fans.
Either Attila or Andy Black. I honestly don't see Lyman's obsession with American Authors. I guess they drew on their dates last year?
Good question... uhhh. I *sadly* feel like Andy Black will probably draw the most out of the main stage bands, so probably him.
In checking out the bands I've never heard of I discovered that The Gospel Youth are awesome, and Courage My Love are kinda cool. But still, my priority list is only Knocked Loose, Movements, Counterparts, and Neck Deep. Then the "I like them and would definitely check them out" list is just Silverstein, Boston Manor, and Too Close To Touch. And the "Don't listen to them but would check them out if I have time" list is GWAR, Hatebreed, and Creeper (and I highly doubt the PNW is gonna get GWAR or Hatebreed anyway). Which is abysmal compared to every other year I've gone to Warped. I can't actually be upset because last year was perfect and it's not Warped's fault I don't listen to deathcore, but yeah, bummer year. and RE: headliner, I guess Andy Black? or Neck Deep? It's hard to say who's gonna draw the most -- scene bands or old school punk. Time will tell.
Besides a few shit stains, the Skullcandy/Hard Rock Cafe stages seem to be the strongest of the stage pairings.
What I like about this lineup is that, out of my Top 15-20, I've only seen about four of the bands. Last year, I had seen about 16 or 17 of them.
I've really just never been able to buy into the hype around them. Probably because they came out around the time that every metalcore band under the sun was getting noticed off of a T-Swift cover and I just thought the cover was eh at best.
Fun fact: Adolescents have a song called "Amoeba," which is featured on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Grand Theft Auto 5. Suicide Machines' song "New Girl" is also featured in the first Tony Hawk game.
Yeah, I Prevail in their onstage banter and lyrics always seemed kinda misogynistic/chauvinistic so I never gave them a fair shake musically.
To be honest I see Beartooth being one of, if not the headliner. Their latest single hit top 5 on active rock so a LOT of people will probably wanna see them
I predict these artists will consistently draw the biggest crowds this summer. I Prevail Neck Deep Beartooth Our Last Night Silverstein Hatebreed
I feel like it goes without saying, but since we get an Andy Black run this year, I fully expect BVB on in 2018.
Lmao I'm not starting that yet lol, all I'm saying is that BVB seems like they're on the table for next year.
Honestly American authors is probably the band I want to see the most if this lineup is true. I don't know how they drew last year but could imagine it being a band a lot of people want to check out if they have nothing else to see at that time
Okay so I've listened to the entire lineup I'm really dissapointed with the mainstage lineup. The entire day doesn't seem very listener-friendly. The casual Warped atendee probably won't enjoy. Atilla and New Years Day aren't mainstage material at all. But overall I'm optimistic, there are around 8 bands I'm totally interested in seeing, and another 12 I'm also interested in
