Are there any other older "emo" or pop punk bands besides Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein on the lineup? Is Silverstein on Monster or Journeys?
lol I was trying to bait him because just a few things seem weird with this year according to what he is saying. Why in Gods name is a band as popular as knocked loose on full sail? Idk about your stops but our stop full sail is literally in front of a gravel walkway and people have to stand on the gravel for that stage. If knocked loose is on full sail, they are going to have major overcrowding issues, way worse then that of i see stars on side stage last year.
Any older punk bands? Warped's FB page teased that the some of the lineup "goes back to their classic punk roots"
I'll try and keep this short just because I know you probably don't want to be bombarded with "is this band or that band on", but can you say if these ones are on your date: Modern Life Is War Municipal Waste Harms Way Carnifex She Must Burn Bad Religion Lagwagon Cane Hill Breathe Carolina Suicidal Tendencies Bad Omens Anti-Flag Forever Came Calling Dashboard Confessional
This is what he said so he is claiming that they are on but on the full sail stage if i was understanding his message correctly. the full message and question are on page 106 near bottom but he said the second line/sentence in response to someone asking about knocked loose
It could be similar to what happened with Wage War last year, where they got bumped up before the tour started.
Yeah but you would think kevin lyman and crew would learn their mistakes from last time. I mean so far based on what Matthew has said im not disappointed at all. Maybe a little bit that one ok rock isn't on (his stop at least) but the fact that underoath isnt on is a little expected.
It's not a mistake, it's the way the tour works. First time, newer bands always start on the smaller side stages generally, and then are bumped up in the following years. It's the hierarchy/respect aspect of the tour that is so important to Lyman. The purpose of the Full Sail Stage is to showcase the new up-and-coming bands from the various labels in the scene. The most popular bands on that stage get bump-ups. So, Knocked Loose will probably get consistent bump-ups, and possibly a permanent bump-up further into the tour, but they have to start on the Full Sail to keep the hierarchy in check. Plus, based on the rumours/confirmations, the monster stages are pretty stacked this year, so it'll be even tougher to get a constant bump-up for them. I'm not denying the popularity of Knocked Loose. There's no question they're the next big thing. But they gotta understand how the tour works, and that means starting at the bottom. It is its own kingdom, and Lyman rules. Whatever he says goes.
However I prevail is on Main according to Matthew which would smash the hierarchy idea in the face because they have never done a warped tour before.
So if this is true, do you have an explanation for I Prevail being on Journeys Left Foot? They've never been on the tour before and have only been a band for 2.5 years.
Exactly like I love them and even in a friendly competition with a friend put them on my main stage (i took that risk) but I wouldn't have been to surprised if they made monster stage instead but this makes the hierarchy idea almost irrelevant.
