The dudes from Head North were walking around the Buffalo date, saw them chilling with Broadside before their set. Super cool seeing bands go out and interact with each other
anybody going to Shakopee tomorrow from the North Saint Paul, White Bear Lake, Maplewood area? I have a ride to Canterbury Park but my ride home backed out.
I pretty sure it was white? I just remember being in the ampitheater taking a breather then headed over to GC.
3OH!3 are looking pretty old. Haha. Its been a while since I've seen/listened to them. Crown the Empire have been my favorite so far but it seemed like Andy had a lot of help from a backing track
Rather than do a recap I figured I'd just stick to a couple of bullet points. - It was hot! This is the first year I can remember where I wasn't able to be as active as I wanted to be because of the heat. - The crowds at the main stages seemed to be consistently bigger than the crowds at the Monster Energy stages. - @Daniel182 is cool. - The line just to meet Jeffree Star was insane. - State Champs played until 8:50. I don't ever remember staying at Warped that late. - Sum 41 and Good Charlotte really seemed to be glad to back playing shows. Sum 41 said they would be back in October. Good Charlotte said they would be back too. - Sleeping With Sirens had to cut their set short by about 10-15 minutes because something happened to a girl in the crowd. She had to be taken to the hospital. - Assuming We Survive is terrible. They are about as generic of a band as you will see. The singer kept talking about "welcome to our family" and friendly circle pits. Pretty lame. - I had to buy merch earlier than I wanted to because all the tents were being taken down around 5 probably because the sky was getting pretty dark. - I didn't get to check out many bands on the Monster Energy stages but it seemed like it was full of the typical meathead dudes. I didn't mind keeping them away from the rest of the bands on the other stages. - I did see to notice a lot more older people (people my age) in the crowds. I'm glad bands like Yellowcard, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte got some of the older fans back out to Warped. - The wrestling ring was also in Chicago but I didn't get a chance to see anything fight.
There was a decent size crowd everytime I walked past the wrestling ring to get water. Didn't stay long enough to watch more than a few seconds of a fight.
Bradley Whalen from Emarosa just jumped off stage midsong, and dragged his microphone all the way to a cotton candy stand.
I also liked how Less Than Jake's intro was specific to Chicago. Something about how Chicago is the hometown if Al Capone and Al Bundy.
I really want to go to Milwaukee on Tuesday but I'd probably end up going alone. The weather is supposed to be perfect. What do I do?!
I think next year will likely have much less focus on older bands mainly because all the usual go to acts played this year haha, but if some of my predictions end up being right (The Devil Wears Prada, Beartooth, Moose Blood, Architects, Trash Boat, Letlive) I'll still have plenty to be excited about.
Personally don't see them topping or even coming close to this year's lineup so we'll just have to wait and see!
The only bands I like that I could see playing next year would be Forever Came Calling, Hawthorne Heights, Senses Fail, Simple Plan, Silverstein, Taking Back Sunday, The Summer Set, and We Came As Romans. Not a bad lineup but nowhere near as good as this year's.
