Both times I've gone to Warped in Maryland they've had the Smartpunk/Journey's stages inside the pavilion. The main stages were next to each other in a field/forested area.
The main stages were in the pavilion in 2013 because of weather threats, but it ended up being totally fine all day. Go figure!
I always thought having the main stage there would make more sense because there's a seated/shaded area.
I ordered mine online for $40 and it is signed. I did not notice any pictures of Steve but I just flipped through it quickly.
Even though Steve turned out to be a scumbag I don't think I like the fact that they're completely trying to write him out of their history
Next week, Atreyu and The New Low join for the second half of the tour on Tuesday, Bullet for My Valentine starts their three date run and Neck Deep plays in Indiana. On Thursday, 3OH!3 starts. On Friday, SayWeCanFly starts.
I'm on the fence on if I want to go on Saturday. Will probably end up costing me like $200 unless I find a ride and/or don't buy merch/CDs, but July has been hell for me and I want to blow of steam and have fun for a day. I'm also trying to save up to go to Riot Fest in a couple months so I probably shouldn't be spending a ton of money right now.
Went to Mansfield. very very hot day. Some crowds I saw that were huge (IMO) included SWS, Sum41. ZERO problems leaving after State Champs (another big crowd) and got out in 5 minutes :) Girls had fun. We all got a bit red from the sun. Hope everyone survivied the weather ok.
Wish I had heard of The Interrupters before my date, they came up on my Spotify recommendations and I'm really enjoying their latest record, great throwback sound to better times.
90's-early 00's ska, Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, a vocalist that sounds like a young, European Brendan Kelly
I agree it's a great perk, but Kevin doesn't really like doing that because it discourages people from checking out smaller bands on the tour. Given the choice of checking out side-stage artists while either sitting down in the shade or sweating out in a field, I'd choose the former every time! Gosh, especially this year with the main stages so stacked ... people would sit down in the pavilion at 11 a.m. and never leave!
Holy shit this is embarrassing. I could probably do better than Zac here and I can't sing to save my life. That said, the worst performance I've ever witnessed at Warped was in 2011 when my friends and I had to rest in the amphitheater and sat through an entire I Set My Friends On Fire set.
