It’s nothing groundbreaking but I really love the rhythm section on this whole album.

 

Pretty crazy every instrument on this record was played by one person

 

I definitely get some Swellers vibes and some of the guitar reminds me of Chris Farren.

His vocals on this occasionally remind me of Dave Elkins from Mae.

 

never listened to Mae, I'll check em out. I like that his voice can't help but make his melodies sound a bit off kilter even when they're not

oh gotcha gotcha. im really not sure this is it partly because i don't think people are gonna view it outside the lens of a side project. i really hope you're right though, then maybe we won't have to wait six years for the follow up lol

 

I hope it does, it's really great. Side note: I can't get into Oso. I've listened through those new songs twice and still can't get it.

One of few pop-punk albums in years that I can enjoy

 

sonically, i like this, but i found the lyrics to the opener so off-putting that i ended up switching it off to listen to something else. @cwhit would you say the whole album is like that lyrically?

 

I’m definitely not the one to ask about lyrics (@EmmanuelSCastle would be great for that) but he definitely has a weird, unique style of writing
