Did not know that the guy from Reservation Dogs played Ray Mendoza or that Michael Gandolfini was in this.

It's being released in the UK next Friday so I am seeing it on Saturday afternoon, one of my friends saw it at a press screening and for the first time ever for a movie he suggested I should be bringing earplugs because he said it was one of the loudest films ever watched/heard in all the years he's watched films in the cinema for his job!

Nobody announced it to be fair. I'm the one that checks the digital releases every day. So I'm really the one one spreading it as of now. lol

Hahaha. Well that’s maniacal. But still - this is a movie made for theaters. Totally fucked if A24 is taking it to VOD in less than a month. My only guess is they think it’s done once the new Marvel movie comes out or something.

Also, is “Eephus” coming out on VOD next week?

Feel bad for those translators. Just cannon fodder right from the start and no “In honor of” given to them.

This movie might have the best sound design I've ever heard in a film. It's not much else, but I don't know that it needed to be.

i'm neutral on civil war and thought this was enough to beat garland's washed allegations. though i'm not sure how much of this film working is his success or mendoza's

I think it would be a little more effective if it just left it at the final shot. I understand it’s a tribute to that group of guys and their experiences, but immediately jumping from the last shot to the “This is what they actually look like” was kind of jarring and felt a little course-correct-y to not be too anti-war or anti-American.

I don't know, something about all the blurred out faces in the credits was haunting to me. If they wanted to just be like "now let's meet your heroes" it certainly undercut that sentiment when half the guys are unidentifiable. Whatever the reason for that, it gave the effect that some were so traumatized or disillusioned they didn't want their faces attached to the film which served the anti-war sentiments I felt the movie was able to get across.
