According to the recently released synopsis for War for the Planet of the Apes, in War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise (following Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

Stoked for this. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was great.

 

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was one of the best movies to be released in 2014. Still love that movie.

Loved just about the entire trailer. Except the last line. Little too on the nose...

Holy shit. the last movie might be my favorite modern blockbuster. here for this.

 

Yeah Dawn... was incredible. One of my favorite flicks to come out that year.

Looks so awesome, enjoyed the first one but I'm so glad Matt Reeves took over the franchise.

 

Agree that the last line was a little too corny, but holy hell this looks so good. I loved Rise and then Dawn blew that one out of the water. This is probably my most anticipated after episode VIII.

 

Also, I'm always in awe of how good the apes look in these films.

 

I'm so hyped.

I haven't gone back to any of these films, but I've watched each one in the theater and it's been a spectacle each time. Looking forward to this one

 

Woody Harrelson saying that "If we lose it will be a Planet of the Apes" at the end was corny as hell but ignoring that this was really cool. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was a surprisingly great summer action flick so I have high hopes for this. Matt Reeves impressed the hell out of me last time so he has a lot to live up to.

 

Wow. Was pumped for this already but that trailer was awesome.

 

Cannot wait for the Woody Harrelson/Caesar showdown.

Enjoyed Rise, actually never saw Dawn but I'll watch it one of these days. Cool that this seems to actually be a franchise with longevity, unlike the original series which started off insanely strong then went downhill fast.

 

Oh man Rise is amazing. Top tier. Don't sleep too long on it.
