For being made up of mostly scenes that we either knew or assumed happened, that episode had so many great surprises and emotional gut punches.
I thought this was one of the best episodes. The opening scene was cool, going through and seeing Wanda experience her past events was nice. I still don’t think Agatha would be harming the kids if there wasn’t another demonic villain involved.
Posted my weekly reaction video on YouTube - spoilers! My God I loved this episode. Olsen absolutely killed it. Wanda's character was so ripe for exploring in this way and the creatives behind this show are nailing it.
Thoughts on this: -The scene with her family was a real gut punch and honestly bummed me the fuck out. I knew it was gonna show the bomb going off but damn, it just breaks your heart. -The Chaos Magic/Scarlet Witch reveal was super tight butthole -Kathryn Hahn is hands down one of the best people to portray a villain in the MCU period, I will genuinely be bummed and disappointed if she gets canned out of the MCU in the last episode. I wanna see her be a persistent baddie. -The beginning was hype and really dark, I wasn’t expecting that.
That one flew by, I assume the finale will be longer than an hour there's so many loose ends to tie up
Absolutely fantastic. Like others have said, some real gut punches this episode. And holy mid-credits
Mordo. It makes sense with Agatha being so concerned about Wanda’s powers, Mordo would not want Wanda to have that level of magical power. Plus, as the post-credit scene of Doctor Strange showed, Mordo is on a quest to stop others from using magic so it’s possible that he’s using Agatha against Wanda.
Incredible episode. And yes, Katherine Hahn fucking KILLS IT in this role. Hard for me to say anything that hasn't already been said in here lol
I doubt they're gonna go there, Mordo is a relatively deep cut for the MCU at this point and Disney knows they've got a lot of new viewers. If they'd already introduced Dr. Strange or something, where people would have freshly gone back and rewatched the movie, I could see it, but not just randomly in the last episode at this point. He hasn't so much as been mentioned since that after-credits scene.
Also I don't think Mordo would be working with Agatha considering he hates all magic users. He'd want to kill her just as much as Wanda.
He’s supposed to be in DS: MoM and this would also explain why DS is heavily rumored to show up in the last episode, DS is there to fight Mordo who’s been missing all this time. Plus, people have pointed out that AoU actually laid out a lot of things that people are picking up now later down the road so it’s possible that the post-credit scene at the end of DS was a hint of things to come.
But I feel like he would know how powerful Wanda actually is so he would know he can’t take her on himself so why not team up with an old powerful witch to leverage things out? Plus, he definitely would probably know a spell to alter his appearance hence the mailman
I meant that I don’t see Agatha wanting to harm the kids because it seems like she just wants Wanda to awaken her full powers and show her how she does it.
I think she knows that the kids aren't "real" and is counting on that revelation to be the thing that breaks Wanda and awakens her full powers.
I mean, I'm not saying it *won't* be the route they're going for sure, just that... I don't see them going that way. I don't think they need much of an excuse to bring "the master of mystic arts" (and well known actor Cumberbatch/at this point character Dr. Strange) beyond "hey this is some mystic shit right here".
