My guess would be that we’ll have the Modern Family episode and then the last two will be one episode that takes us back to the beginning of the Hex and how it all got started and who’s manipulating Wanda, etc. which would then catch us up to the final confrontation in the finale.
Any time this has leaned too heavily into SWORD stuff, I've gotten really bored. As much as I love Darcy & think Monica has the potential to really shine in a future project, the overall energy is as dry to me as the early episodes of Agents of SHIELD before it found its footing. I'm not invested in any of that side & haven't been given enough reason to be yet. Hopefully that stuff doesn't weigh down whatever the finale is.
Idk I’m the opposite. If they focus on the sitcom stuff too long then I think it gets stale. I like a good back and forth from the sitcom and everything going on outside of the wall. So far the show has done a good job at finding balance between the two. I found the first two episodes to be the least interesting so far.
Mmmhmm, I think they've pretty much nailed a pretty perfect balance, I know I was starting to drift away a bit before the first SWORD episode, now I've been hooked since.
We are def getting a modern family/office episode. maybe..... we also get an Atlanta/Fleabag episode?
We’re two episodes in and I am def intrigued. I have very little educated guesses as to what the hell is going on other than she appears to be getting experimented on in some way. Episode 1 was funny but 2 was much better and funnier. Drunk vision was fun. For some reason I got really excited about seeing the actress who, I think without doing any googling, is the girl from Donnie Darko that had a crush on Donnie
Feige didn’t actually say this, it’s just a fan running with their interpretation of a quote he said before the show started, that the whole show would be around 6 hours (it’s been around 3 so far). It’s certainly possible, but it’s not something he said recently.
Alright we blasted through the next 4 episodes today because we kept wanting to know what was next lol. holy shit this is a lot of fun.
Re: the mutant talk, I didn’t see if anyone said this but...isn’t it kind of implied that Wanda is causing mutations in people with what Darcy said to Rambeau about her cells being changed by the hex?
Only thing that would suck about that is there would be no X-Men for a long while. Would need time for Xavier to start his school and all that.
I don't see why the residents of Westview wouldn't be ecstatic over handing their children to an elderly man with new psychic powers who will take them around the world consistently putting them in danger.
I think it’s one possibility but I still think the post Snap will have a bigger impact on mutants, considering that you can tie in powers to each Infinity Stone. The Snap has unintended consequences and I think that’s gonna be one for bringing all those people back.
Westview as the place all mutants come from doesn't really work. And, I mean that beyond my already well documented X-Men opinions, lol. Wolverine gets too messy, as does Magneto, as does Namor (who I guess doesn't have to be a mutant), as does Apocalypse, Storm, Shadow King, Xavier, Legion, Moira, Karma, Emma Frost, the Rasputins... basically any older and/or international Marvel mutant. The international aspect could be solved a little by having some big energy blast from Westview across the globe, but at that point aren't you just doing Inhumanity? If anything, the powered character that'd make the most sense spinning out of this outside of Monica Rambeau & the twins is Ms Marvel. I wouldn't want Kamala to lose the Inhuman angle for a reason similar to my pedantic mutant thoughts, but it's not the biggest deal in most stories. Having her as the in to eventually discover & explore the [rebooted] Inhuman Royal Family, as well as a way to bring in Quake if they ever feel like it, would be ideal. But, Kamala's gonna be in Captain Marvel 2 alongside Monica, & irl Westview, NJ is a half hour away from irl Jersey City, NJ according to Google... I dunno, there could be something there?
Who's saying Westview can't be *extremely* multicultural? Holocaust-survivors? Check. Russian immigrants who used to work the farm? Check. German Priest? Check. A loud Irish man and his also loud daughter? Check. 3,000 year old Egyptian man? Definitely check. 5'3" Canadian lumberjack? C'monnnnn now, check!
