I wasnt trying to imply that, just that I simply do not care about the royal family, no matter how good the show is.
Thought this was good! As others said the lighting was a major player here. My favorite was when the storm was raging and the crypt opened revealing Wicks, and Jud slipped in the mud.
I loved the lighting in the flashbacks to Grace tearing apart the church. It was so operatic and sinister.
This doesn’t do much for me artistically but it’s a fun 2.5 hours. Don’t really expect anything more than that from this franchise.
thought this was good and fun but had no reason to be 2.5 hours and it seems like the casting of only big names is wearing thin considering cailee spaeny, jeffrey wright and thomas hayden church had less than nothing to do in this between the first and the second imo
Probably my least favorite of the three (first one is probably a top 10 movie of the past decade for me, and I find the second one to be so, so funny) but still super enjoyable. That said, I do think I'm ready to see Rian Johnson try something else. I rewatched Looper this past week, and that movie rules.
This was the highlight of the movie for me. The movie slows down when Jud takes that call and what feels like would be a slightly wacky, procedural call to get to the next step in the mystery is a showcase who Jud really is (an empathetic man of faith) and shift in how Blanc sees him (respectful of Jud’s faith and kindness, even if he is a non-believer.)
Wright’s part was small, but he had some excellent line delivery so I’m not upset about that one. Spaeny’s role wasn’t central to the plot, but her character had one of the more powerful thematic arcs and her performance was fantastic. Thomas Haden Church, ehh probably didn’t need him for the role but he did look a lot like Brolin with a wig on I guess. Andrew Scott felt like the biggest waste though. That character didn’t really add much to the story at all.
Basically everyone outside of O’Connor, Brolin, close and Craig were wastes. You don’t need to cast people who are the leads of their own movies to be the 12th lead of your movie
everyone's character/performance in this was pretty great except Cyrus who's needed to move the plot along but pretty boring
IMO, I think those characters all would have been better if it weren't so obvious that Glenn Close did it.
