Yeahhh, I saw that just now. While I'd LOVE to see the artists make the majority of the money off of these re-pressings, it's unfortunately a label/contract issue that probably won't be changing anytime soon. That's why Cartel did their "take back our music" type of re-record for Chroma.

That single they released is...something. Those boys are damn near 50, multimillionaires several times over, and writing songs about how their mom doesn't love them.

 

I mean trauma is trauma.

 

That's been the case with nearly all of these Drive Thru releases; aside from maybe a few that I've seen the bands promote (Hellogoodbye, The Early November), I don't think any of the bands are seeing a dime from these.

 

I dunno man, I think I'm the wrong person to talk to about pop-punk lyrics needing to be something? My favorite band writes about fucking dogs.

 

I just think it's funny coming from the same band that wrote "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous". GC's never been known for their lyrics anyway (ticky ticky, what what).

 

yup its a bummer. I purchased the UDiscover Ocean Avenue variant before knowing YC had nothing to do with it. haven't even spun it!

I have the eco version of Moon Music and still haven't listened to it. Might have to finally grab Ghost Stories if the sound quality is decent.
