Flashbacks to springing for the “alternate cover” vinyl version of the last Menzingers album and then just getting the regular album sleeve with a piece of paper folded inside with the alt cover printed on it.
The way of alternate covers, album release shows, record store exclusives anymore, unfortunate. Last group I saw try with that stuff was Brain Dead and even they dropped it Menzingers store is up but all variants are limit 4 per person so nothing actually special or limited
Yeah, I think I ended up recycling the alternate cover, because I don't need another insert. It left a bad taste in my mouth, especially because I think that album was just OK anyway. This new one will be a "Wait and see" rather than a preorder, for me. I don't think the price difference was that substantial, so it's not a huge deal. But it does still feel a little "false advertising" to me.
