Been listening to a ton of Basement this week. Why is it so hard to find Promise Everything and Beside Myself on vinyl?
I kind of justify it because of the fact that it's a day meant to support your local record store...so if that costs me a few extra bucks I'm ok with it
Was pleasantly surprised to find this at Shake It the other day while flipping through the used section. Not sure what it goes for but when I find a record I love for only $10 these days I consider it a steal.
It goes for a decent amount, I’ve gotten messages on my Discogs about mine before, but I’d never sell it.
The echo was cool because a dude on Discogs messed up an order I had and he offered me 50% off anything else to not leave negative feedback so I got that OG echo record for 13 bucks shipped
Alphabetical band name (the does not count). And then artist by first name. Numbered artists are at the start of my collection. Movie soundtracks are placed by the name of the film.
With names, I get a little complicated because if the name is a performative name (frank ocean), it’s in the F’s but if it’s their real name (Leonard cohen), it’s the C’s
Saw some crazy take where a person organized by BPM. No chance they were serious. Kinda interesting take though. Your mellow albums on the left and slowly increasing to the right side. Would be able to suss out whatever mood you were in by just gravitating from one side or the other and grabbing at random.
this is exactly how i do it. "the" doesn't count but "a" does i used to do this, but then started confusing myself with what was real, so just decided to go all alphabetical by first name
Alphabetical by first letter (exlcuding the), chronological release. I do complicate it a little by throwing side projects in with main projects though, so like it would be After Laughter -> Petals for Armor -> Flowers for Vases -> This is Why
This is the way. Though I do have my jazz, soundtracks, and classical in separate boxes, but still arranged that way.
How it starts and then I get lazy and one record gets put off by a place or too. lol. I need to reorg it all at some point. Running out of some space again though.
