February is a fun time for music exploration if you have any interest in joining the MWE (Music Writers Exercise) thread! My first time was last year and it really opened me up to new stuff. It’s very low pressure and there’s no obligation in anything other than listening through our blind spots all month long. That and just being introduced to collecting vinyl really opened my mind and got me curious about stuff outside my original bubble of interests and now I think I cherish my pre-90s albums more than anything else in my collection
Still waiting for that NIN - Year Zero...... I'd also really like either of The Simpsons Sings the Blues or Songs in The Key of Springfield !
Hello, Long time lurker, rare poster. I'm a Brit and I've just booked a week stay in New York in October. I'm wondering if there are any recommendations for a record store or legendary "rock" bar I should seek out? If its near the Ghostbuster HQ then thats a bonus! Cheers
Thank you very much for the recommendations. Ah cant beleive I didn't think of Rough Trade, handy one is in the Rockefeller. Will certainly check out Limited and Academy, they look ideal

I've always listened to a smattering of older stuff, but my listening has definitely skewed more in that direction as I get older. I've always been interested in hearing what older bands influence the newer stuff, so it's been a natural progression. Not as much from the 50s and 60s, but a ton of stuff from the 70s and (especially the) 80s.
Figures after I snag one the alt cover back in the spring... I just need Goblin Hours. Noon EST on murimerch.com
not vinyl related but... if anyone here is interested in joining, we just revived the Weekly Album Club. works like any typical book club or film club, where someone chooses an album for the week and we discuss. if you want to join, just say so in the thread! Might have to snag that live Geese record. I like the album, but those songs soar in every live video I’ve seen
Did The Gaslight Anthem re-press Handwritten? Rarewaves has it for 40 dollars new on ebay which is the cheapest I’ve seen it in a decade. https://ebay.us/m/WKrSOD
