Few bands defined emo in the 2000s more than Dashboard Confessional. On the breakthrough third album, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, frontman Chris Carrabba perfectly distills post-adolescent angst and the dizzyingly wide emotional spectrum it entails.

Channeling both 1970s soft rock and Eighties hardcore, Carrabba hits his vocal high mark on this landmark album. Romantic hopefulness hangs out with revenge-fueled breakups on songs whose sincerity is matched only by their intimacy. After two relatively low-key albums, Rolling Stone states the album as, “the toughest, most assured music [Carrabba] has ever made, summing up the vulnerable charisma that has made him a cult idol for fans.”

Released for the first time as a 2LP gatefold, this IVC exclusive edition of A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar is pressed on Translucent Milky Clear and Opaque Black Galaxy Vinyl. Featuring 3 new tracks including “This Old Wound,” “The End of an Anchor,” and “Hands Down (feat. Michael Stipe)” from MTV2 Covers, this release comes with a bonus lithograph photo and is strictly limited to 3,000 copies.

Don't forget to secure your copy on January 1st!

If the current month is sold out, does it not let you sign up? I'm not seeing where I can sign up on their site.

If current month is sold out, you can’t sign up until the next release drops.

    It’s so dumb.

Oh wow I totally forgot about The End of An Anchor. I bought that iTunes single back in the day and probably played that more than any other DC song.

Might need to offload my blue vinyl and purchase this next month.

  7. I'm ready. January 1st, starting the year off with a vinyl purchase. X-(

Anyone know timing for when it'll go up?

    Edit: 12PM PST

If I remember correctly, previous subscribers sometimes get early access via email. Like an hour or two before the public release.

  9. Feel like the variant is gonna look like dog shit but that’s not important when it’s an album like this that needs to be re-pressed

Happy to see this one getting a repress

Apologies since I know this has been discussed before but how does the subscription work? I click on the subscribe button and it just shows this release or the previous sold out ones. Do I just sign up on 1/1/26 when it releases?

And for future reference even if you just do the one time purchase and not the subscription, you’ll still get those early access emails the morning of future on sales.

I’ve gotten Blink’s untitled and AVA’s I Empire from IVC and they’re both gorgeous pressings
