record store called me letting me know this was available. fully expected it to show up tomorrow (street date for physicals), which would probably be more difficult seeing as that we're getting some really bad winter weather this weekend. luckily i made it back to my apartment just as the snow started pouring down harder.
Picked up two favorites that I didn’t even know were available, let alone pressed! Such a pleasant find at a record store where I stopped by to shop for my wife for Christmas (still got her both Wicked soundtracks on wax!).
Home Grown secured. White / Tangerine / Neon Orange Truly a "never thought I'd get this" album for me on vinyl. Seemed too unknown and under the radar. So very very happy.
Yeah I just realized it's a double and I guess that justifies it... A little bit. But the reception is pretty good for this... Hopefully it sells out and we don't get free copies in our future PGR orders. Well I can say I'm marked safe from 3oh3 dropping just now... Eww.
as prices get more and more insane for new records I become increasingly more pleased with my local record store for trying to keep their prices as low as possible on new stuff and flat out cutting great deals on used stuff. in the last couple of months, I’ve bought a sealed copy of Sainthood by Tegan and Sara ($50), You Are OK by The Maine ($30), the 5th anniversary edition of Mac Miller’s Swimming ($30), and the pink/black swirl variant of On Letting Go by Circa Survive ($25), among other things, all well below what they go for on discogs and ebay. shout out to Hippo Records in Greensboro.
Got a copy of that Home Grown release! Feeling the exact same way about this one as Jason. I never thought I'd get a chance to purchase it on vinyl. Being able to do it on the same day I'll be seeing Junction 18 for the first time despite having been a fan since This Vicious Cycle came out in 2000 is certainly not something I had on my 2025 bingo card. LOL
