Relistening to Relient K - Collapsible Lung right now. Back in 2013 this was absolutely not what I expected or wanted from them, but this is sounding very good at the moment. Just pure pop goodness. I was definitely too harsh.

 

The lyrics are still mostly very bad.

Damn, I just realize I have no AAR albums on vinyl. I would definitely buy a S/T, Move Along and Kids repress.

 

update: they were luckily able to ship out a replacement.

 

Y'all's collections are wild, I think I'm somewhere around 125. I just keep a super curated collection and go through stuff and sell to fund other endeavors fairly regularly.

...and 216 others (mostly 12") in a collection that I got from a guy I went to law school with.

Those numbers include a few box set things (Anberlin, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping At Last, Sufan Stevens, The Wonder Years, Hayley Williams, Underoath), as well as some shaped vinyl (I think all grouped in the 7" category).

I also have a handful of things that haven't arrived yet. There's a nonzero chance I get over 1000 of my own things by the end of the year (but I really probably shouldn't, since my partner and I bought a house). I do at least have a nice new 5x5 that can actually hold everything comfortably, which is nice.

Those Sleeping At Last sets look gorgeous. One day I'll grab em all.... I just want Ghosts to find it's way onto wax. That album is brilliant!

 

I still buy CDs, but mostly new releases since I still have all of my 1,200+ from years ago. I almost always double up on stuff, though, so I'm a terrible example as far as determining factor goes.

 

I'm currently at 964 total records. That includes a smattering of 7 inches, 10 inches, and a few box sets.

I've been collecting for about 15ish years, but it was just a handful of titles for much of that. I started to buy a little more once I bought a house and got a decent setup, and it's just snowballed from there. I had about 250 when I started my Discogs in 2019, so I've gotten 700+ in the last four years. The last year I've really started focusing more on older releases, which is both a blessing and a curse.

 

@bobsheiskawy can add that one to his will for you. I'll keep mine ;)

 

I’ve thought about selling mine. I kind of miss the OG artwork on my shelf.
