I am trying VYNL for myself this month. I'm prepared to hate it and let you all know.

One of those things I just wanna try and hate for myself.

I have a year subscription that my girlfriend got for me as a gift, so I have no choice haha. I've gotten 5 boxes so far I think, and the first two were actually pretty sweet. The last two I got had two duplicates each, even though I link to my discogs. So it's been about 50/50 for me.

Out of hundreds of my albums, all my GYBE releases are the only ones that I never remove from the seal. Not sure why - they're just something really special about them.

For those of you who take records to get signed at shows, how do you usually take them with you? I am thinking just a backpack. Most venues here don’t have re-entry, so I’d leave them in my car but then I’d have to hope to catch them outside.

I’ve never taken a record to a show to get signed. A couple reasons. 1) I usually never have enough time to stick around after an show to wait (or don’t have enough time to arrive early enough) 2) I would spend too much time worrying about damaging it that it would probably take away from the experience.

Yea I’ve always been too afraid of damage. I have left stuff in the car and grabbed it after the show before though.

My thoughts exactly. Sometimes I'll get lucky and I will buy the LP at the merch tent and hope the artist is there. That is exactly what happened when I bought Aaron West - We Don't Have Each Other. What is funny is that Soupy signed it as Aaron West.

  13. I would make sure the venue allows backpacks before you go.

I know the venue allows backpacks. I could actually coat check it too until after the show. I will probably be too paranoid, but I’m seeing Grayscale and would kinda love to have them signed haha.

Some venues won’t let you coat check merch.

I've never thought about coat checks at music venues. Didn't know that was something they did

Maybe I've never been to a show when it was cold enough outside for a coat

I The Mighty’s new album is now up for vinyl pre-orders. Some really pretty pressings.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Fever To Tell is also getting repressed. You can get a price gouged $200 box set too haha.

Pretty cool synth release. Initial preorder sold out, but they are putting more copies up tomorrow morning (they clearly don't have enough hashtags)
