not waiting on anything at the moment. Picked up an old boombox and am currently working on supplementing my LP collection with box sets/cassettes, books about music and other general memorabilia for the time being. Turning my living room into a general music haven

 

The Wonder Years, Paramore, PVRIS, and The Movielife are my only preorders I'm waiting for right now.

 

Gonna check out the new NYC record store Limited To One today. Will report back.

 

Finally picked up Arcade Fire - Funeral for cheap today. One of my favorite albums so I'm excited about it. Almost bought the Suburbs too but had to pass for now.

 

Some stuff seems reasonably priced and other stuff seems a little crazy (based on the insta posts). Curious what you think.

Haim and The Killers are both on my want list! But i am prioritizing haha.

So I went yesterday afternoon. Very small shop around St. Marks. A lot of their stuff is slightly over priced (for example there was the new Sorority Noise record for $33 I think). I will say the selection is really curtailed toward this crowd here. I found both Park records, a lot of Little Elephant releases and the occasional rare item like the Glamour Kills Wonder Years/Transit/PolarBearClub/IIOI split.

They do have some extremely high priced items like an original copy of Devil and God and some rare Blink pressings. While most stuff is slightly upmarked, I am definitely going back because the selection was quite good for such a small shop.

I did manage to find this IIOI KOJI split I have been looking forever for. So I was overall happy with my experience.

 

Rented World is my fave Menzingers album!

 

It's seriously so good! I was so excited to find a copy yesterday.

 

Just picked up Foster the People's latest album on pink vinyl

 

Got my Lift a Sail vinyl in yesterday. Its beatufil.

Yeah a discount seller priced it $15.99 brand new so I bought it up.

Soooo...have lived in Long Beach, NY for 5 years and while on a run on Friday I realized there is a god damn record store 5 blocks from my house? So sick.

Went in today and dug around. This was my pull for $45:

 

yo friends. so i just moved into a new place and im experiencing a problem ive never had to deal with before. when i walk in my apartment while listening to vinyl, the needle is catching the vibration of me walking and it skips over the record. i want to fix it. im wondering if there is anything i can do that doesnt involve a wall shelf for the records because i really do not want to spend money on one.

 

My friend's apartment does the same thing. What do you have your record player on now? Is it sturdy?
