That's a steal for 10 bucks.

 

I know!!! I plugged it in and it turned on and the tray came out so I figured it was worth a shot. Just pulled out the burned CD book from back the DAY.

 

I've got like 3 binders of CDs (real and burned) and I definitely miss having something to play them. Especially since not everything is even on steaming now.

 

Sounds like it’s a handful of live albums. 8+ hours total.

do you guys have any preference for a 2LP album? at 33rpm i've noticed sometimes the fourth side is blank (Black Parade American Idiot iirc). on the other hand, i listened to TAITA just now, and each side is relatively short. i think once or twice i've seen it's four sides at 45rpm. the Hadestown i have is 2LP while the first printing is I think 3LP. i don't really notice any differences in audio quality, but for someone who does, i wonder what sort of compression sounds the best? is it just the obvious answer, the lesser there is on a side the better?

 

Usually it depends on how the record is mastered, but in general, the less music that is crammed onto a single side and/or disc the better. The technical term is "inner groove distortion" and, yes, we are the correct support group for fighting this lol

 

And so begins the end of my variant collecting journey for blink. What started out in 2013 as wanting to get just "one" of each vinyl for all of the albums they put out, led to wanting all of the first presses and eventually led to what you see here today. This is likely not every 12" album variant for every album they have, but is probably damn near close. With Untitled being my favorite album, I have every test press for each pressing run done for it (MTS/Hot Topic/SRC/Geffen).

It's been quite a fun journey but has now taken up too much space. There are so many people in this group and the community that helped me to get here and I'm coming from being a young collector looking up at the ones who had all of these crazy pressings.

Keane "The Iron Sea" first press 2xLP gatefold from 2006.

When it was repressed in 2019 it was a single lp and not a gatefold. I figured it wouldn't do this album justice in the art department and soundwise. So I held off for years until I said fuck it let's grab a copy.

The sleeve has some discoloration on the spine. Probably nicotine but nothing bothersome. Smells like it was in an old attic haha.

Gave the discs a clean and they sound flawless and beautiful.

Can’t compete but got some vinyl in from counterintuitive and wax bodega.

 

I had my eyes on this for a while and couldn't pull the trigger. Settled for the repress. Hoping it gets pressed on color one day!

 

Nice! What variant of the new Charmer did you get? I'm hoping there's a restock of one of the two limited variants.

 

Maybe we'll get one next year for it's 20th.

I thought of buying one of the 20th anniversary pressings of Hopes and Fears since I've got a standard copy.
