I’m glad With Teeth seems to be more widely available this year.

All the American Candy variants are already sold out. The frustration for some fans that couldn’t order due to job, school, or life must be so high right now. I feel for them.

Plenty of Covers and John the Ghost copies available. They should’ve doubled the pressing of AC. Maybe they announce another run though?

I think it can and is both of these things. I like buying vinyl as my means of supporting artists because 1) it gives them money for their work, and 2) is something material that I like owning and that I use on a regular basis. Of course there are other ways to support artists. Some of them I'm into (live music is great, for instance, but I live in an area that's not really close to any concert markets, so I don't get to see that many shows per year) and some I'm not (patron communities like Pillar are cool, but so many of the bonuses offered just don't interest me, and I don't see the value in paying the subscription for something I won't use). So, I guess for me, I like there to be a vinyl option for artists/albums I like, because it's the means of supporting an artist that most lines up with what I want/value. If that makes sense.

  5. Definitely hear ya! When I think of ways I tend to support artists outside of vinyl and shows, I think of repping their merch, spreading the word about them online and in friend circles, honestly even just following/liking/commenting and all of that stuff helps them fight the algorithm for exposure. But I won’t sit here and pretend like vinyl ain’t the coolest one haha, I’m also deep into this hobby because I can relate to what you’re saying here. You can probably tell from the other thread I posted this opinion in (lol at the almost 180° difference in response) that this is all just stuff I’ve been thinking a lot about recently - sorry to be a weird divot in the thread today, but it’s nice to have a wall to bounce the ball against and today it felt relevant

I like how you mentioned simply talking/writing about bands as a way of supporting them. I have to remind myself sometimes that repping artists on here and to my friends in real life is probably the most important thing I can do on that front.

  17. They never released just that second EP on wax did they? I never wanted to pay 50 bucks for my least favorite NFG album, when I already have the original, just to get the EP on vinyl. Wish it had a better cover too, the original cover is the best part of that album haha.

Urban Outfitters discounts are weird and wild. Got the new Sum 41 for $10 after it was already stickered on clearance for $20. Not sure if it’s a weekend promo, a consistent discount, and/or if they do online clearance price matches.

Not sure about their communication now but credit to those doing the DTR releases they seem to have turned it around so far. Think it’s still Joe and TTTH? Looked like it was dead in the water at one point but it seems a change of distro has been what was needed.
