American Candy Sweet Tart variant has been purchased! SO HAPPY to have one of my two whales acquired. Now just LLL and I'll be content. B-)

Might be worth the extra $10 for a pillar membership if anyone really needs it.

    Were pressing counts announced?

  9. Wasn't this the era that the band went really big on the "we won't charge for meet and greets" or something like that? In that vein: I refuse to buy a membership for the opportunity to give a band fifty more dollars for a record. :crylaugh:

Dear The Maine, get better at vinyling. It's depressing.

Trust me, I really feel this. I love this band and everything they've done musically, but it did not feel good forking over another $10 for their club just for the chance to snag vinyl early. Ugh. And I know I'll likely do this one more time for LLL, and then that's it.

EDIT: I'm fine with them offering a membership for those that are die-hards and want that sort of extra content, but not fine with the gatekeeping of a vinyl repressing that fans have been requesting for years.

I think their Pillar community is awesome. They're always posting demos and live stuff – all their fest sets are up there – along with livestream song breakdowns.

  12. I’d just like to give the band money and be given a vinyl record :crylaugh: I have too many subscriptions already I need to remember to cancel.

Can someone just let us know if the other variants start to sell out? I'd prefer not to get a membership just to buy the vinyl that I could probably buy in 39 minutes without a membership. But I'd take the plunge if absolutely necessary.

    England.

I concur, you shouldn’t have to pay extra to be a fan.

Anyone have a link handy for when these go live for non-subscribers?

They've released six albums in the past decade, and you can currently buy one of them on vinyl.

Yeah, I don’t doubt that the Pillar community is cool, just like I thought Patreons from the likes of Manchester Orchestra and Spanish Love Songs were cool, in so far as it felt like they were providing worthwhile value for the money, but it feels like my entire life is a subscription and I found I was just not interacting with paid-band content in a way that felt valuable to me, so I had to draw a line somewhere.

I, too, am eternally baffled by their vinyl output (or lack thereof.)

That's crazy to think about! My recommendation for all bands is to put out as many variants as you want, but at the very least, have a standard/black variant in stock <somewhere> at all times.
