I’m once again asking for PTW to repress You Come Before You with the original artwork.

To anyone who ordered a copy of those Alvvays Bandbox pressings before they folded. WE'RE IN LUCK!

(Now if I can get my 2 Fontaines DC pressings from Bandbox. Even though I ended up ordering them from Turntable Lab after the fact...)

    @satellitexyears
Do you prefer the original vinyl of Satellite Years or the re-master?
Just got the remaster on vinyl and I do like it but reviews seem to favor the original mix.

I was listening to both last week thinking this very thing. Wanted to hear RJ's take on it.

I have the 2017 pressing and the 2.0. I think the remix gives it a new breath of life and I definitely hear nuances that I didn't hear the countless times I've listened to the original mix.

That being said, Matt Talbot (from Hum) definitely knows his stuff behind the board. So I'm kinda bias.

I like both but since 2.0 came out, that's definitely my go to. But the OG mix is still a masterpiece!

Ugh, that Instagram post reminded me... where are my American Football Bandbox pressings? I deleted those emails long ago though, so I wouldn't even be able to provide proof of purchase. I ended up buying them from elsewhere too.

Wonder if you can reach out to Polyvinyl about those. I feel I'm SOL on my Fontaines DC lps. Even though I had the opportunity to get the without the fanzine. But I told Bandbox I'd wait for that to print. Silly me.

I appreciate Polyvinyl for making this happen finally since I ordered Antisocialtes from Bandbox... Also stoked for Airheads again haha.

Here’s my question of the day for the thread to consider: Excluding picture discs, is there a variant/color that you simply won’t buy on vinyl due to past experiences?

  9. Brodobaggins34

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Color in color, if possible. Unless it’s clear as the outer color. But even then, I think it’s one of my least favorite looking variants.

I think the reason why the Satellite Years remaster is so good is because they didn't fundamentally change anything about the record. It sounds like the original, just better mixed.

I prefer this style of remaster over the trend of re-recording the entire album. It's always a little like watching new episodes of The Simpsons and everyone's voice sounds weird.

    Avoid: White is historically bad.

Love: coke bottle clear, sometimes a green

White does tend to be a bit on the quieter side for some reason...My "avoid" is usually glitter variants due to lots of noise in quiet moments and/or between songs.

no colors that i outright avoid, but i am getting more cautious about clear variants. can occasionally be noisy.

edit: and glow in the dark. i only have one, but it sounds semi-muffled.

glitter, pinwheel, white variants are my least favorites. Personally love any clear variant, most color in color and splatter and i do love a classic black!

Is it coming from Chicago? I have a package coming from there but I don’t know what it is.

Wow, I think they originally gave an April ship date. Nice when the date changes in our favor.

Not on the T&N listing - a vague April 2025 date.

I got the band variant, the first one. It doesn’t say any date on their site now, but it did say 3/31.

if it's from their storefront, it should be from Chicago (think that's where Benchmark ships all their merch from)

I still hold hope that an email will magically materialize and relay tracking info for two Taking Back Sunday records I ordered for my wife, as a gift… My Shop App still has them there as a sad reminder.

I’m happy for the Alvvays fans though. Jealous but happy for them lol

Glitter seems to be Pure Noise's trend now with their releases in the last 12 months and they make it the most limited.

TBH I have the Counterparts EP, Knocked Loose and State Champs lps and they sound decent.

I do try to steer clear of Glow in the Dark as that does have a bad rep. But do have a few.
