Death Touches Us, From the Moment we Begin to Love Supporter

I'm stoked. I've been loafing on nabbing it. I have the first 3 albums in vinyl and they all sound ridiculous. Wish I saw her last year when she stopped in Toronto. I saw her tour Vows and Primal Heart. She's brilliant live and in general!

oh God, i wish i had the others. i nearly picked up Primal Heart back in 2018, but it was between that and the 180g blue pressing of Melodrama by Lorde. given the insane resale prices of that variant of Melodrama, i think i made the right call, but i'd love her other 3 on vinyl. hoping one day she can do a deluxe pressing of Vows that somehow integrates the Australian and North American sequencings/tracks. i bet The Golden Echo sounds insane.

I got Vows when I started to really buy vinyl in 2013. It was like $18 cdn back then! The other two I ordered off Amazon when they came out.

I'm surprised they didn't repress Vows for the 10 year. It's been a minute since I spun Golden Echo, but that album is wild! I think that's the cheaper of the three on the aftermarket.

I need a copy of the reimagined EP of songs from Primal Heart, now that's an amazing EP!

ooh, forgot about the EP. only way to hear Hi Def Distance Romance on vinyl (although i still have the studio version mp3 from her old mailing list). my assumption is that a lack of represses is out of her control given that she's fully independent now, but i'll be on the lookout for reasonably priced copies.

Quite the delivery from Vinyl Me, Please this weekend. Have only gotten to spin Golden Hour and Master of Reality so far but god damn did both sound stellar.

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality (1971)
    Labelle - Nightbirds (1974)
    Wednesday - Twin Plagues (2021)
Leon Ware - Musical Massage (1976)
Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour (2018)
    Bob Weir - Ace (1972)
    Thelonious Monk - Monk's Music (1957)

I am so bored, but it's probably for the best that there's no vinyl news. haha

Agreed. Keeping it low key. Hope you're all well in this deep freeze!

We reach for the longest shadow

Alabama got snow and ice and we have no idea how to act when that happens, so I'm trying to stay in the house as much as possible, haha.

Haha I always hear that about the south. Driving become a total shit show!

It was -20 celsius (-4 for you lovely 'Muricans) the last few days. My vehicle has been struggling!

    It's -3 celsius today so that's a relief!

It's about 30°F here in NY. Anything below 60°F is too cold for my old bones. I need to move at some point.

We reach for the longest shadow

People like to mess with us like "yOu DoN't KnOw HoW tO dRiVe LuLzzz" but really it's because we don't have the equipment to treat roads so they're drivable, because it happens like, once every 3-5 years.

All good dude! If I lived in the south and had to deal with snow and ice, I'd stay in bed until it all melts too!

That always kills me. There's no trick to driving in the snow. You either get lucky or you don't.

I checked out that latest Sleep Token album today. Never listened to this band before and was not expecting what I heard. haha. The genre blending is impressive.

Yeah it was my AOTY for 2023.

They haven't been to Toronto since pre pandemic in a 800 capacity venue. Now they're playing 2 dates at one of the most prestigious concert halls in Toronto. I'm hoping to score front row balcony like I did for Death Cab in June!

Good luck dude. I heard Granite on a local radio station here yesterday and was immediately sucked in. I'm a few listens into the album, and this would have definitely been a favorite of mine last year. I even dig their anonymity shtick (being a fan of bands like Ghost). haha.

I'm all for the genre blending they do, but the way he ...embellishes... syllables sometimes in his singing just does not vibe with me. That said, the title track off that album got stuck in my head just as much as any other song last year.

The title track is just an emotional build up to one of the most epic closers. The moment I heard it I was like this is my AOTY.

If not for this album. My AOTY would probably be The Menzingers or Luca Brasi.
