Who knows. Maybe they but off more clients than they could chew. I remember a few years back SCP had a bad rep for their vinyl packaging job. I saw enough folk griping about them on the Vinyl Collective boards at the time. I personally had no issues with them.

As @Michael Belt said, it sucks for the employees not to mention the bands/labels who will miss out on some vital holiday sales.

 

I thought I was lucky when I was one of those who got The Gaslight Anthem a week early, but damn that must be a record! Haha.

 

What variant? I’d love to see a picture. Just curious how the variants turned out.

 

Missed the Mest variant I wanted because I held off and didn’t order during the funeral haha of course the color I wanted was the most limited. Oh well.

How often do you listen to film scores on vinyl?

Not a ton but if I'm in the right mood for something instrumental/specific. The main ones I can think of are The Assassination of Jesse James (wonderful melancholy/rainy day background music) or Interstellar (Hans Zimmer at his finest)

I'd love LOTR soundtrack but those prices are crazy

If I owned them on vinyl, I’d listen to The Social Network and Tron Legacy a ton. Both dope.

 

Only have musical soundtracks so more often for that stuff.

I got my colored press of YPAA and after the usual cleaning it sounded amazing

 

I just listened to my green translucent copy of YPAA and it sounded fantastic. Contemplating ordering Downward and Electra now to complete the collection. But I was never really into them.

 

Take This To Heart must have seen the writing on the wall and moved on from SCP before the holidays.

 

I got the repress in 2019 of Downward. I highly recommend. Still one of the best sounding records I own.

 

i mean i listen to EiTS fairly often and a lot of people say their music is just like a film score.

 

I own no film scores on vinyl.

My obvious picks would be the OG STAR Wars Trilogy or anything John Williams. A close second would be anything Joe Hisashi / Studio Ghibli movies. I'm still loafing on the Spirited Away soundtrack.

But man all those Ghibli soundtracks are pushing $100 Canadian.

 

My white whale record is the score from The Fountain.

 

Yea, OG Star Wars, or even ep 7 and 8 would be ones I would enjoy.

I guess the only score I have on LP’s is a part of Mando season 1. That was cause it was on sale and found it at Target in store. I have a feeling OG Star Wars is pricey and I’m afraid to look.

 

I have an original pressing of the Star Wars soundtrack that I took from my parents. Should probably listen to that sometime.

 

I'm REALLY hoping 2024 brings pressings of The Maine's Lovely Little Lonely/American Candy, Stroke 9 Nasty Little Thoughts, Fenix Tx Lechuza, an official re-pressing of AFI's Decemberunderground/Crash Love, and lets just add a sprinkling of The Starting Line's full discography! What else is on everyone's "Must Press in '24" list?

Oh, and let's also add MCR's Conventional Weapons on one LP.

 

I basically only get movie soundtracks on vinyl if it's a compilation of songs I like, rather than film scores. The Wanderers, American Graffiti, etc. I don't think I'd ever listen to a film score without just wanting to put the movie on haha.

 

I really want the Mondo Back to the Future set too. I mean how cool is that plutonium box?!

Agree, I would just want to put those movies on everytime
