Beautiful!

 

Absolutely love that album. Regularly listen to it - did so on Tuesday on the way into work (rare office day). I’ve already got the album on black smoke from 2013. Had no idea it was that sought after!

 

I sold it to go to Furnace Fest in 2022. Need a new copy!

 

It sounds pretty awesome too.

Has anyone on here gotten their Smartpunk Black Friday orders? 3 weeks and no word for me

 

It’s best to email them, I got a response the same day and mailed out the next. I think some of the orders got stuck in limbo unfortunately…

 

I saw a post on reddit saying that some Folie a Blue orders are being cancelled... really hoping it gets a restock so everyone who actually wants one can grab a copy

 

yeah I haven’t gotten mine mailed out. Emailing today. Figured mine was low on the priority list because I order 3 records for a total of 13 dollars lol

 

I emailed the other day no response. One of mine was Hello Rockview so I hope it’s not a stock issue. Probably just backed up.

 

Yeah, I think all of our online record stores are overwhelmed right now. I'm waiting on quite a few to ship out.

i'm most excited for this version too because the vinyl master apparently lets the instruments shine more than the streaming/CD version. the only other way to hear this version is to pick it up on Qobuz. it's a tad quieter, but that can be managed easily.

 

I shot them an email and got a response almost immediately saying they'll prioritize getting it shipped out asap.

Hate to say this my vinyl peeps, but my 2024 New Years resolution is to stop buying so much vinyl. The prices of $40+ these days are getting insane and I feel guilty if I don't spin a record atleast like 20 times before it hits the shelf. With well over a few hundred albums I feel like I rarely play 90% of them anymore.
For 2024 I want to try and revisit all the albums I've collected over the past decade.

 

Yeah it's pretty bad. I've had a rough year personally and I can say that being more financially responsible is one of my goals for next year.

The pandemic and lockdown allowed me to bank in so much extra money and because everything was shut down, I would just spend money on vinyl. As soon as life got back to "normal" my spending (and mental health) did not.

I won't get more into details personally but it's definitely a dangerous rabbit hole and with the cost of vinyl and even shipping prices imthe hobby is getting rough.
