So yeah now my only remaining white whales are the first three Gillian Welch records, all never pressed at all

Was just lamenting about how i would love that Secret Lives album on wax the other day...
but also, your the only person I've ever heard mention Inmemory and their drummer was my college roommate and played on my college record. He's honestly one of the sweetest, nicest people you'd ever meet.

I know Newbury is notoriously awful with pricing, but I was able to snag Limbeck’s Let Me Come Home, Hot Water Music’s Caution, and Japandroids’ Celebration Rock for 40 bucks total including shipping. All cool variants.

My white whale is pretty much anything original or early presses of The Smiths. No matter what shop I go to, if they have that, that takes precedent over anything else. I have a small but sizeable Smiths collection that I love.

  7. Would go nuts for Here Right Now (or Drive, or Pacific Coast Eyes)

Any of the SR-71 albums would be easy buys for me too, they came from my area so I saw them a ton growing up.

I think that Graham Colton Band record would sell about 20 copies, but I'd buy it! Same with the first two SR-71 albums.

  9. My only vinyl white whale is A City By the Light Divided, but that doesn't even feel like a white whale because it's usually available, just for more money than I want to pay.

Most of my actual white whale, I'll pay whatever if I ever see it for sale things aren't vinyl - the first couple Wonder Years demo CDs, Dan's poetry book that came with The Upsides preorders, the first John K. Samson demo tape, the first Lifehouse album that was released under the name Blyss.

This transparent green variant of Coheed - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3 kind of sucks. Thought the 180g black copy I had sounded so much better.

That's so cool! Yeah I remember the first time I heard their 03EP and instantly became a fan. I feel they had SOME recognition but it was so short lived, even though they did put out 2 full lengths. And then their singer tragically passed.......he had such a talented voice. I still play them to this day.

Got bored and pulled out all my David Bazan records. One of my biggest artist collections.

    What’s y’all’s biggest artist collection?

  15. As someone who owned and later sold a copy of ACBTLD I’d advised saving the money and waiting for a repress because that pressing sounds like absolute garbage

  16. For sure - I'm not impatient, especially knowing that the current version is a bad pressing anyway.

Same. I'm guessing they'll all be some version of red/black/bone (except the black), since Rise did 12 different grey variants for the last AFI record.

Their clearance section usually has some good stuff in it. Too bad they don't price things reasonably to begin with.
